About this project
What does BoomBow add?
BoomBow
A chaotic but balanced Fabric mod that transforms your ordinary bows and crossbows into handheld TNT cannons!
✨ Features
- Explosive Arsenal: Shoot lit TNT directly from any vanilla Bow or Crossbow. Just hold TNT in your off-hand and watch things go boom!
- Balanced Mechanics: Shooting TNT doesn't require arrows, but it does require Flint and Steel in your inventory to ignite the fuse. Every shot consumes 1 TNT block and 1 durability from your Flint and Steel.
- Custom Physics & Rendering: The TNT renders in 3D as it flies through the air, acting as a physical projectile, and detonates exactly 1 second after hitting the ground or an entity.
- Adjusted Default Power: By default, the TNT projectile has half the explosion power of a standard TNT block. This prevents massive accidental griefing and keeps the crossbow perfectly balanced for rapid-fire combat.
🪄 Enchantment Support
The mod natively integrates with vanilla enchantments to create devastating new synergies:
Bow Enchantments
- Power: Increases the explosion radius and damage! At Power V, the explosion becomes massive, slightly exceeding a standard TNT block.
- Flame: Your flying TNT will visually burn in the air, and upon detonation, it will scatter fire everywhere like a Ghast fireball.
- Infinity: You have infinite ammo! TNT blocks are no longer consumed from your inventory (Note: Flint and Steel durability will still be consumed to maintain balance).
Crossbow Enchantments
- Multishot: Loads and fires 3 TNT blocks simultaneously in a wide spread pattern, while still only consuming 1 TNT from your inventory!
- Quick Charge: Naturally speeds up the loading time of the TNT into the crossbow.
💻 How to Use
- Equip a Bow or Crossbow in your main hand.
- Place TNT in your off-hand slot.
- Ensure you have a Flint and Steel somewhere in your inventory.
- Draw your weapon and let it fly! (If you run out of Flint & Steel durability, the weapon will refuse to draw).
