About this project
What does BCS-Tweaks add?
BCS-Tweaks
BCS-Tweaks is the companion mod of the Beneath Cursed Skies modpack. It moves the world spawn to a graveyard, gives each player a burial kit on first login, and corrects the behavior of several other mods. Every feature has its own config section and can be turned off.
Graveyard spawn
The mod moves the world spawn to the nearest structure tagged #wabtweaks:spawn_target on the first world start. It searches up to 150 chunks around the origin, and that radius is configurable. It can set the spawnRadius gamerule to 0, so players appear on the exact point instead of the vanilla scatter. It can also bury the spawn point in a small chamber under the graveyard ground, with a soul lantern for light. The player digs out. Mob spawners inside the spawn structure are replaced with cobwebs, because a respawn point must not be a grinder. Spawners in every other structure keep working.
Burial kit
Each player rolls one burial once, on first login. Four archetypes ship with the mod, with configurable weights: Close Kin, Hasty, Honors, and Mass Grave. Each archetype defines its own armor pool, piece count, durability range, dye color, damage pattern, main hand, off hand, and inventory items. A Mass Grave player can wake up with nothing. A Close Kin player wakes up dressed, with a coin for the ferryman. The mod adds one bonus item chosen by biome tag, so a desert graveyard and a snowy one do not give the same thing. A low bell toll and a short wake-up text play when the player gets up. Every line, item, weight, and chance is set in the config file.
Spawn loop breaker
Some mods resurrect their own corpses after every kill, which produces an endless loop. This feature cancels MOB_SUMMONED spawns for the entity types you list, and leaves natural worldgen spawns of the same entities untouched.
Mod corrections
Better Fog keeps its night palette well past sunrise. The mod forces the day palette from 06:00. The Grue reads the light level of one block under the player. The mod reads every block the player hitbox covers and keeps the brightest value, so standing with your feet in a shadow no longer counts as standing in the dark. MCreator mods send network packets before a connection exists, which crashes the client. The mod cancels those sends and writes a warning to the log instead. The Happy Ghast harness notice is removed from the login messages. Other features
/fogreload reloads the Better Fog configuration in game, with no restart. Resource packs listed in the config are enabled at every launch and cannot be unselected. Nothing is redistributed, the files come from the pack downloads. The mod adds a structure placement type that keeps a minimum distance from the world origin. Compatibility
Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge. The mod ships with no recipes and no items. It reads its config on world load.
