About this project
What does CarryCap – Item Limits add?
CarryCap
CarryCap lets server admins set limits on how many configured items each player can carry.
It runs entirely on the Fabric server, so players joining a dedicated server do not need to install the mod themselves.
Limits are configured in:
config/carrycap.json
Rules can target either a specific item ID or an item tag. After editing the config, operators can reload it with:
/carrycap reload
What counts as carried?
CarryCap checks:
- Main inventory
- Hotbar
- Armor slots
- Offhand
- Menu cursor
- Matching items inside carried vanilla bundles
- Matching items inside carried vanilla shulker boxes
Ground pickups that would exceed a limit stay on the ground.
If another vanilla inventory action causes a player to exceed a limit, CarryCap drops the excess items at the player's position during the same server tick.
If the violation comes from items stored inside a portable container, such as a shulker box, the container itself is dropped intact instead of modifying its contents.
Example configuration
{
"limits": [
{
"type": "item",
"id": "minecraft:totem_of_undying",
"max": 2
},
{
"type": "tag",
"id": "minecraft:logs",
"max": 128
}
]
}
Setting "max": 0 prevents players from carrying matching items entirely.
Requirements
