Standard Game With This Mod
Standard Game With This Mod

[MR] True RDP Fix is a fixing mouse control when playing Minecraft 1.21.x (Fabric & NeoForge) via Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP)!

This mod was created using AI under human supervision. I do not monetize on CurseForge — just enjoy the game!

If any issues arise, please write to me in comments on CurseForge or GitHub issues!

Inspired by RDPMouse by KesslerCascade, but is a more refined version.

What Problem Does This Mod Solve?

In Minecraft versions 1.21.x, the game bundles LWJGL 3.3.3 with an older build of GLFW (3.3), which fails to properly handle mouse input across the Windows virtual desktop when connected through Remote Desktop (MC-126875, GLFW issue #1276).

When you connect via RDP:

  • Windows marks mouse movement with the MOUSE_VIRTUAL_DESKTOP flag.
  • The older GLFW engine miscalculates absolute mouse coordinates.
  • Hiding the cursor with SetCursor(NULL) prevents Windows RDP from re-centering the cursor via SetCursorPos.
  • As a result, the camera either flies into the sky, spins uncontrollably, or locks up at the edge of the monitor.

Mojang resolved this issue only in the 26.X snapshots.

What Does This Mod Do?

Clean Native GLFW 3.4+ Backport

Before the Minecraft window or graphics context is created, the mod automatically injects a bundled, modern GLFW 3.4+ native library containing official fixes (PR #1279 and PR #2431).

Hot RDP Connection Support (Dynamic Session Switching)

Unlike stock GLFW builds that only check for Remote Desktop at the very moment the game launches, our bundled GLFW binaries include a custom native improvement by Mr712:

  • A transparent system cursor (blankCursor) is initialized unconditionally at startup.
  • You can launch Minecraft locally at your PC, leave it running, and later connect via RDP from another laptop or phone — mouse look will work immediately and smoothly without restarting the game!

Compatibility

  • Zero Breakage: 100% compatible with shaders (Iris), optimization mods (Sodium, Lithium, FerriteCore), textures, and custom resource packs.
  • No Mod Conflicts: Pure native injection that works without Mixins. It does not touch Minecraft game bytecode.
  • Can Be Kept in the Mods Folder Permanently: You do not need to remove the mod when playing directly at your computer — controls feel 100% like standard vanilla gameplay.
  • "Install & Forget": Zero configuration required. No config files, no added keybindings, and no extra menus.
  • Zero Dependencies: Pure Fabric Loader only — Fabric API is NOT required.

Supported Minecraft Versions

The mod is maintained across all modern 1.21.x releases in dedicated branches:

  • 1.21.x: 1.21, 1.21.1, 1.21.2, 1.21.3, 1.21.4, 1.21.5, 1.21.6, 1.21.7, 1.21.8, 1.21.9, 1.21.10, 1.21.11

If any of the listed versions are unavailable for download, it means they are currently under review by CurseForge; please wait.
