About this project
What does Yet Another Uranium Mod add?
☢️ Yet Another Uranium Mod
Another uranium mod? Yep
Yet Another Uranium Mod is a small, vanilla-friendly mod that adds uranium as a powerful but dangerous furnace fuel.
There's no giant tech tree, complicated machinery, or nuclear power plant to build. You mine some uranium, turn it into fuel rods, and try not to make any questionable decisions.
Features
Uranium Ore
Uranium Ore generates deep underground between Y -64 and -40. You'll need a diamond pickaxe or better to mine it.
Raw Uranium
Mining the ore gives you Raw Uranium, which can be crafted into a Block of Raw Uranium.
It's probably not a good idea to carry huge amounts of it around, though.
Uranium Rods
Craft 1 Uranium Rod using 1 Raw Uranium and 2 Iron Ingots.
A single rod can smelt 128 items, making it a very powerful fuel source compared to ordinary coal.
But there's a catch.
Radiation
Uranium isn't exactly something you want to casually keep in your inventory forever. Handling uranium can expose you to radiation, so maybe don't treat it like another stack of cobblestone.
Furnace Overheating
Uranium Rods are powerful, but you can't just put a ridiculous number of them around your furnaces and expect everything to be fine.
Keep more than 3 Uranium Rods in the nearby area and things can get rather unpleasant.
And whatever you do:
Don't put Raw Uranium in a furnace.
Seriously.
Why this mod?
I wanted uranium to feel like an interesting resource without turning Minecraft into a full-blown tech mod.
So instead of nuclear reactors, power cables, machines and a giant progression system, this mod focuses on one simple idea:
Uranium is extremely useful, but you probably shouldn't treat it like coal.
Small mod, simple mechanics, questionable safety decisions.
