About this project
What does AlloyWork add?
⚒️ Welcome to AlloyWork! AlloyWork is a comprehensive overhaul of Minecraft's survival and progression system. Forget the standard wood ➡️ stone ➡️ iron ➡️ diamond path. Now, to become truly powerful and conquer the Nether, you'll need to master metallurgy, build smelters, and craft complex alloys!
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Vanilla Mechanics Changes This mod makes the game more challenging and forces a gradual progression.
⛏️ Iron Pickaxe Nerfed: It can no longer mine diamonds. Additionally, Steel tools are now vastly superior to Iron.
💎 Diamond Pickaxe Nerfed: It is no longer all-powerful and cannot break Obsidian, Deepslate, or Titanium.
🪨 Deepslate Hardness: Deepslate is now a much tougher block. A vanilla Diamond Pickaxe can no longer break it! You will need an Invar, Reinforced Diamond, or Ferrotitanium Pickaxe.
🔥 Lethal Nether: Entering the Nether without a full set of Ferrotitanium armor is a death sentence — you will take constant damage and burn!
🌍 New World Ores Explore the world to find new metal deposits (spawn depth and rarity match their value):
⚪ Tin: Found high in the mountains inside stone. Mined with a Steel Pickaxe.
🟢 Nickel: Found in deep caves inside stone. Mined with a Bronze Pickaxe.
🟣 Titanium: A rare and valuable ore hidden within deepslate levels. A regular Diamond Pickaxe won't work — you need an Invar, Reinforced Diamond, or Ferrotitanium Pickaxe.
🪙 Silver: A precious metal that serves as your main currency. Found deep underground in deepslate.
⚔️ Alloy & Tool Progression Create new materials in your smelters to advance through the tiers:
⛓️ Steel (Iron + Coal): Tier 1 Smelter. Your first major step. A Steel Pickaxe is required to mine Tin.
🟤 Bronze (Copper + Tin): Tier 1 Smelter. Highly durable tools. Unlocks access to Nickel.
🔗 Invar (Iron + Nickel): Tier 2 Smelter. A powerful alloy. The Invar Pickaxe is your key to mining vanilla Diamonds, Deepslate, and Titanium!
💠 Reinforced Diamond Pickaxe: An advanced tool upgraded from a standard diamond pickaxe. Breaks Deepslate and Titanium, serving as your reliable assistant on the path to endgame metals.
🌋 Ferrotitanium (Titanium + Invar): Tier 2 Smelter. The pinnacle of metallurgy. Only this pickaxe can break Obsidian, and its armor is the only thing that will protect you from the hellish heat of the Nether.
🔥 Unique Furnaces & Materials 🏺 Small Smelter (Tier 1): A single-block furnace for starter alloys. To work, it requires a heat source directly underneath (Lava or Magma block) and manual hand-cranking! Crafted using iron ingots and a stick.
🧱 Smeltery brick: A crucial building material. Smelted in the Small Smelter (Tier 1) by combining a Clay Ball + Nickel Ingot.
🏭 Industrial Blast Furnace (Tier 2): A massive multiblock structure (3x3 cube) for advanced alloys! To start, you'll need the main controller block, crafted with 1 Iron Trapdoor, 4 Heat-Resistant Bricks, and 4 Steel Ingots. Powered by Lava Buckets.
🏘️ New Structures & Villagers 🏚️ Foundry Workshop: Keep an eye out for villages! They can now generate a new building featuring a Small Smelter, custom paintings, and loot chests full of ingots (Tin, Iron, Silver) and nuggets.
👨🏭 New Profession — Caster: The local foundry master.
Novice: Trades basic Iron and Coal.
Journeyman: Sells ready-made Steel and Bronze for Silver.
Master: The most valuable merchant! Buy Heat-Resistant Bricks and Blocks from him to build your Industrial Blast Furnace. Uses Silver as the main currency.
