About this project

What does Create: Numismatics Plus add?

Create: Numismatics Plus

Create: Numismatics Plus is an addon for [Create Numismatics] that expands its functionality and integrates Numismatics' currency and banking systems with the shop system introduced in Create 6.

The addon is designed around a simple idea: add features and integrations that naturally complement Create Numismatics and make its existing systems more useful, particularly for servers with player economies, automated shops, and administrative stores.

Rather than replacing Create's shop system, Create: Numismatics Plus extends it by allowing Numismatics currency to be used as a payment method.

Features

Create 6 Shop Integration

Create: Numismatics Plus adds support for Numismatics currency as a payment method for Create 6 shops.

When a player purchases an item from a Create 6 shop and the transaction uses Numismatics currency, Create: Numismatics Plus detects the transaction and opens a dedicated payment interface.

The interface allows the player to select between two payment methods:

  • Coins — Pay directly using Numismatics coins in the player's inventory.
  • Card — Pay using a Numismatics card inserted into the payment interface.

This allows Create's shop system to function as a point-of-sale system while using Numismatics for the actual financial transaction.

Coin Payments

When a player chooses to pay with coins, the required amount of Numismatics currency is automatically taken from the player's inventory.

The player does not need to manually transfer the coins into the shop or a Depositor.

Once the transaction is successfully completed, the payment is transferred to the shop's Depositor.

This makes coin payments function similarly to a physical cash transaction while allowing the payment to enter Create's logistics system.

Card Payments

Players can also pay using a Numismatics card.

The player's card is inserted into the payment interface and is used to authorize and complete the transaction.

The player's card and the shop's card serve two different purposes:

  • Card in the payment interface: The player's payment method.
  • Card in the shop's Depositor: Determines where the shop's revenue is deposited.

This distinction allows a shop to accept card payments while directing its revenue to a specific bank account.

Shop Payment Destinations

The Depositor attached to the shop's Stock Ticker determines what happens to the payment after a transaction is completed.

Depositor contains a card

If the Depositor contains a Numismatics card, the card's associated bank account is used as the destination for the payment.

The transaction therefore works like:

Player → Shop → Depositor → Bank Account

This is useful for shops operated by a player, business, or other entity that wants its revenue to automatically enter a bank account.

Depositor does not contain a card

If there is no card inside the Depositor, the payment remains as Numismatics currency in the Depositor itself.

The transaction therefore works like:

Player → Shop → Depositor

This allows the shop owner to physically collect the currency through the Create logistics system instead of automatically depositing it into a bank account.

Depositors and Shop Security

A Depositor is intended to be an essential part of the Numismatics payment system.

The Depositor provides a physical destination for shop revenue and, when a card is present, determines which bank account receives that revenue.

If a shop does not have a Depositor attached, a Numismatics transaction cannot be properly processed.

The intended behavior is for the purchase to be rejected and the player to receive an error explaining that the shop does not have a Depositor attached.

Known Issue

At the moment, the payment interface will open even when a Depositor is not attached to the shop.

This is a known bug and is not intended behavior.

The planned behavior is for the mod to detect the missing Depositor and run a normal payment system, the way create disigned it.

Vendor Changes

Create: Numismatics Plus also changes how the original Numismatics Vendor is obtained and used.

These changes are intended to better complement Create 6's new shop system.

Normal Vendor

The crafting recipe for the standard Numismatics Vendor is removed.

This is intentional.

With Create 6 introducing its own shop system, the original Vendor is no longer intended to be the primary method for creating player shops. Create: Numismatics Plus instead encourages the use of Create's newer shop mechanics for normal player-run stores.

Creative Vendor

The Creative Vendor has been repurposed as a tool for administrative and server-controlled shops.

It is intended for situations where a server administrator wants to create a shop with effectively unlimited supply or demand.

For example, an administrator could create a server shop that sells:

64 Netherite Ingots — 15 Suns

Because the Creative Vendor is not intended to represent a normal player-owned shop, it does not have the same practical stock limitations.

This makes it suitable for:

  • Server shops
  • Spawn shops
  • Administrative stores
  • Resource exchanges
  • Unlimited item purchases
  • Unlimited item sales
  • Server economy infrastructure

The Creative Vendor can therefore be used to create permanent shops that provide or purchase resources without requiring an administrator to continually restock them.

Creative Vendor Appearance

The Creative Vendor has also been visually and textually reworked.

Its appearance has been changed to use the standard Vendor's appearance, and its displayed name has been changed to match the normal Vendor.

This change is primarily aesthetic and is intended to provide a cleaner, more consistent appearance.

Despite sharing the standard Vendor's appearance and name, its creative/admin functionality remains intact.

How a Numismatics Shop Transaction Works

A typical Numismatics transaction follows this process:

  1. A player selects an item from a Create 6 shop.
  2. The shop determines that the purchase requires Numismatics currency.
  3. Create: Numismatics Plus detects the Numismatics transaction.
  4. The Numismatics payment interface is opened.
  5. The player chooses Coins or Card.
  6. The payment is processed using the selected method.
  7. The shop's Depositor receives the payment.
  8. If the Depositor contains a Numismatics card, the payment is instead routed to that card's associated bank account.
  9. Once the payment has been successfully processed, the purchase can be completed.

This allows Create's shop infrastructure and Numismatics' financial infrastructure to work together without requiring either system to be completely replaced.

Why Create: Numismatics Plus?

Create Numismatics provides the foundation for a currency and banking system, while Create 6 provides a powerful system for creating automated shops.

Create: Numismatics Plus connects these two systems.

The result is a system where servers can build functioning economies around Create's logistics and shop mechanics while using Numismatics for the actual currency.

For example, a server could have:

  • Player-owned shops accepting coins
  • Shops accepting card payments
  • Businesses depositing revenue into bank accounts
  • Physical coin-based stores
  • Automated resource exchanges
  • Administrative shops with unlimited stock
  • Server-wide economic systems

The addon is intended to expand the capabilities of Create Numismatics without fundamentally changing the systems it is built upon.

Current Limitations

Create: Numismatics Plus is actively being developed. Some features are currently subject to change.

Current limitations include:

  • Numismatics shop payments are intended to require a Depositor.
  • The payment interface currently opens even when a Depositor is missing. This is a known bug.
  • Depositors currently cannot be moved while being used for Numismatics shop payments.
  • Coin payments are taken directly from the player's inventory.
  • The card inserted into the payment interface is the player's payment method.
  • A card inside the shop's Depositor determines the bank account receiving the payment.
  • Without a card in the Depositor, the payment remains as currency inside the Depositor.
  • The exact behavior and implementation of some of these systems may change as development continues.
