About this project

What does Z# Language add?

Z# Language

This mod allows you to code Minecraft mods using Z# made by ZombieOS.

What is Z#?

Z# (pronounced Z Sharp) is an open sourced coding language made by ZombieOS. It has easy to read and learn syntax, with examples on the official GitHub repository.

What can this mod do?

With this mod, you can create blocks, items, entities, recipes, commands, events, and more!

How Do I get Started?

To get started, you will need to add this mod as a dependency in your build.gradle (Gradle) or pom.xml (Maven).

After you do this, you will need to create your Z# project. To do this, you create a new file inside of your projects main directory named project.zsettings. Below is a template for your mod, you can adjust things how you need.

zsharp = type.settings

Project: "Mod Name":
PID: "mod_id":
Version: [1.0.0.0]:
Authors: ["Author1", "Author2"]:
Description: "Mod Description":
ZSharp: [1.4.0.0]: // replace this with whatever version of Z# that the Z# Language mod supports in the build you're using
Dependencies ():

After you make this file, you will create a folder named zsharp inside of your src folder, looking like:

YourMod/
 project.zsettings
 src/main/zsharp/
  MyMod.zsharp

Java, Kotlin, and Z# do not smoothly communicate. This is meant by Z# cannot call functions made by Java or Kotlin, and Kotlin and Java cannot call functions made by Z#.

This mod will stay up to date with the latest versions of Z#. If you want to use versions from Z1 (Z# generation 1), install the v1 series, if you want to use versions from Z2 (Z# generation 2), install the v2 series, and so on.

For Developers

When using Z# to make your mod, we recommend setting the dependency version for this mod minimum of what youre going to be using, and maximum of the next generational update (ex: v1 to v2 (or Z1 to Z2)). Reason for this is small updates (like v1.0.0.0 to 1.0.0.1) do bug fixes and add some new things, whereas generational updates (like Z1 to Z2) change existing syntax a little bit and some of your code might break in between updates. We label everything changed in the Discord between generational updates.
