About this project
What does Weather Improvements add?
Weather Overhaul takes vanilla weather from background noise to a system you actually have to manage. Instead of rain and snow just looking nice, they now carry real gameplay weight — temperature, exposure, and survival all come into play.
Features include:
- Temperature system — Track the heat with a craftable Thermometer, readable in Celsius or Fahrenheit via config.
- Heatstroke — A brand-new damage type. Push your luck in the heat too long and you can die of heatstroke, with scaling that ramps up when it's environmentally triggered.
- Snow accumulation — Snow actually piles up during storms, layer by layer, with configurable limits, intervals, and attempt rates so you can tune how dramatic it gets.
- Screen tinting — A subtle visual overlay during extreme weather, with adjustable max opacity.
- New food & drink — Craft a Raw Soup and cook it over a campfire into Hot Soup to fight off the cold, or mix up a Cold Drink to cool down in the heat.
- Custom particles — New rain, snow, and rain-ripple particle effects for a refreshed weather look.
- Puddles - New puddles blocks that form while its raining.
- Fully configurable — Snow accumulation, tint intensity, and temperature units can all be tweaked to taste.
this mod is inspired by the mod "Particle Rain" by pigcart
