About this project
What does [VIME]Visual Iron's Mobs Edit add?
This mod lets you make mobs cast spells easily through an in-game visual GUI.
Whether a mob casts
A mob does not cast a spell when any of the following applies; otherwise it casts:
- The mob has no target;
- The target is not within the spell's min and max cast range;
- The mob's health is not within the spell's required health range;
- The spell is on cooldown (including the 4-second blacklist after a failed cast);
- The mob is in its cast gap;
- The mob's mana is lower than the spell's mana cost;
- Attack and control spells also require the mob to have line of sight to its target.
These conditions apply per spell: if a spell fails a condition, only that spell is excluded from the draw, while other eligible spells are still drawn normally.
How a mob casts
The mob draws from its configured spells every "Cast Decision" interval (default 0.5 seconds). The chance to draw a spell is decided by its weight with the modifiers below.
Weight is probability: chance = single spell weight / (sum of all spell weights) × 100%.
Spells have 5 weight roles: Attack, Defense, Mobility, Control, Summon.
Attack
- If distance to target > "Preferred Max Range": weight × 1.5.
- If mob health < Panic Health (health percentage): weight × 0.55.
Defense
- If mob health < Panic Health: weight × 3.5.
- If Panic Health < mob health < 0.85 (percentage): weight × 1.2.
- If mob health > 0.85: weight × 0.3.
Control
- If the target is already controlled: weight × 0.4; otherwise × 1.4.
- If mob health < Panic Health: weight × 1.6.
Mobility
- If distance to target < "Preferred Min Range": weight × 2.5.
- If distance to target > "Preferred Max Range" × 1.6: weight × 1.6.
- If "Preferred Min Range" < distance to target < "Preferred Max Range" × 1.6: weight × 0.5.
- If mob health < Panic Health: weight × 1.5.
Summon
- No condition; weight × 1.4.
After a mob has cast a spell, that spell's weight is multiplied by an extra 0.35 in the next draw.
