About this project
What does Arcane Codex add?

Arcane Codex adds 41 spells, six altar rituals, an in-game book you rebuild page by page, and a blood cult with a demon boss to Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks.
At a glance
- 🔮 41 new spells for Iron's spell books, scroll forge and loot
- 🕯️ 6 altar rituals that leave something behind in the world
- 📜 The Wanderer's Codex — a book you rebuild page by page, and a thief who steals it back
- 🩸 The Coven of the Open Vein — a blood cult lair with a winged demon boss
🔮 Spells
41 new spells that slot straight into Iron's spell books, scroll forge and loot — nothing to configure. Plus a Dominion and Emperor for every school: shut off a whole school of magic in a field around you, or bend the rules and keep casting it yourself.
🕯️ Altar rituals
Six rituals worked on Iron's altar, each one leaving something behind instead of firing once:
- Rift — tear open a one-way door to another dimension.
- Force Dome — raise a barrier that soaks up damage.
- Sun Sentinel — call down a small sun that fires on hostiles.
- Hallowed Ground — consecrate a floor that strikes whatever stands on it.
- Tomb — build a vault that catches your items when you die.
- Wellspring — grow a spring that speeds up your mana regen.

📜 The Wanderer's Codex
An in-game spellbook you rebuild one page at a time, found where its subject lives — pyromancer towers, the catacombs, the Citadel. Keep an eye on your Scroll Shelf: the Redactor steals from it at night, and if it gets away with enough pages, the Concordance comes to collect the rest in person.
🩸 The Coven of the Open Vein
A blood cult's hideout: a war camp up top, three bloody floors underneath, and the Tithe waiting at the bottom — a winged demon boss with its own music. Beat it for the Tithe's Heart and the Crown of Thorns and Veins.
Compatibility
Requires Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks and its dependencies. Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge. JEI optional. MIT licensed — safe in any modpack.
More from Vaskar
- Vaskars Bestiary — original boss fights with custom models and animation, starting with Skarrn, a lightning-scarred elk.
- Vaskars Remains — corpses across the world, each with a story to read before decay erases it.
