About this project

What does SpreadLoot add?

💎 SpreadLoot — smart loot distribution for Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge)

Automatically copies items from sources to receivers based on tags.

🏷️ Tagging:

  • Rename any item to the tool name (default: Reg).

  • Shift + right-click on a container → apply/remove tag (owner = the player).

  • Foreign tags can only be removed by the owner or the server host.

📦 Container roles (by custom name):

  • Loot — receiver (contents are replaced on distribution).

  • Res (weight 8) or 1Res16Res — source with weight (1 = rare, 16 = frequent).

  • Names like 0Res or 17Res are ignored.

⚖️ Weight — affects the drop chance of an item in each receiver.

🔄 Distribution modes:

  • copy — same quantity as in the source (Res).

  • random — random quantity from 1 to stack size.

⚙️ Settings (/spreadloot set):

  • min/max (0–64) — number of items per receiver.

  • mode copy|random — copying mode.

  • tool / loot — names for the tool and receivers.

  • particles on|off — visual effects above tagged chests.

  • protection on|off — protection from breaking, explosions, placing adjacent chests, hoppers, and rails beneath them.

  • Other commands and their descriptions are available in /sl help.

🧹 Auto‑cleanup: removes dead records for missing/renamed containers.
💾 Saving: atomic write to spreadloot_registry.json with backup.

🌍 Scanning: /spreadloot scan <radius> — auto‑tag and distribute in loaded chunks.

🔐 Permissions: commands require OP (level 2), settings require host (level 4).
⏸️ Pause: host can temporarily disable access for a specific player (/spreadloot pause on|off <player>).

📢 Notifications — all key events are displayed in chat.

📁 Files (in the world folder):

  • spreadloot_settings.json — settings.

  • spreadloot_registry.json — tag registry (with backup).
