About this project

What does Not an Empty World add?

Not an Empty World

image

An atmospheric mod where your world slowly starts to feel off.

The mod adds events that happen in your survival world over time. At first they are small and easy to miss, like footsteps or a door left open. Later they get more noticeable, and a figure starts showing up.

Changes to your game

The mod changes the render distance setting, can crash the game, open your world to LAN, save an image to your screenshots folder, and change blocks around your base. It also spawns far fewer animals and no naturally spawning hostile mobs. All of this can be turned off in the config. The mod never touches files outside your instance folder.

How long to play

About an hour to an hour and a half in one world.

Compatibility

  • Shaders can break the fog.
  • Lowers the Overworld's minimum build height. If another mod changes world height, turn off Common → Lower overworld floor.
