About this project

What does Magic Mirror: Terraria add?

Description

Magic Mirror: Terraria brings the iconic Magic Mirror and Ice Mirror from Terraria to Minecraft.

Both mirrors allow you to instantly teleport to your respawn point, making them useful for quickly returning home after exploring, mining, or traveling far from your base.

✨ Features:

Magic Mirror — Teleports you to your respawn point in the Overworld.

Ice Mirror — A second mirror with the same teleportation functionality.

Respawn point detection — The mod checks whether your respawn point is a valid bed location before teleporting you.

Configurable cooldown — Set the cooldown between uses through the magicMirrorCooldown gamerule.

Cross-dimension teleportation — Enable magicMirrorWorksEverywhere to allow the mirrors to teleport you back to your Overworld respawn point when used from another dimension.

Durability — Both mirrors have 50 durability and lose durability only when a teleport is successful.

Sound effects — Using a mirror plays a dedicated sound effect with multiplayer support for nearby players.

Creative Mode compatibility: Both mirrors are now available in their own dedicated Creative Mode tab.
(Note: This applies only to release 1.2.5. Versions 1.2.2 and 1.2.0 are located under Tools & Utilities.)

JEI-compatible recipes — Both mirrors have crafting recipes that can be viewed in JEI.

Multilingual support — Includes English, Mexican Spanish, Spanish (Spain), Belarusian, French, Italian, LOLcat, Russian, and Ukrainian.

No additional dependencies — The mod is designed to work on its own without requiring external library or audio mods.

⚙️ Gamerules:

magicMirrorCooldown
Controls how many ticks the player must wait before using a mirror again. The default value is 200 ticks (10 seconds).

magicMirrorWorksEverywhere
When enabled, the mirrors can be used from any dimension and will teleport the player to their Overworld respawn point. By default, this is disabled.

🧭 Usage:

Use either mirror while you have a valid respawn point. The mirror will teleport you there while preserving your current rotation.

If the mirror cannot find a valid respawn point, the player will not be teleported and the mirror will not lose durability or enter cooldown.

🔨 Crafting:

Both mirrors have simple crafting recipes using iron or packed ice and a diamond. Their recipes can also be viewed through JEI.

🔊 Compatibility:

The mirror sound system is designed to remain compatible with audio-related mods, including spatial-audio and ambient-sound mods. Nearby players within 8 blocks of the activation point can also hear the mirror sound.

This version of Magic Mirror: Terraria was rebuilt from scratch as a native NeoForge mod, providing a cleaner and more reliable foundation for future updates.

Inspired by the Magic Mirror and Ice Mirror from Terraria.
