Better Whips

Better Whips adds physics-based whips to Minecraft.

Instead of using a normal raycast or a fixed attack hitbox, the whip itself is simulated. If the moving cord hits something, it can deal damage. This gives whips much more reach than most melee weapons, but also makes them harder to control.

Whips

The mod includes several whips made from different materials, along with more unusual weapons that have their own mechanics and effects.

Some of them are fairly simple physical weapons, while others have unique attacks, particles or special behavior.

Unbound Sea is one of the more unusual weapons in the mod. It uses multiple water strands and has its own attack mechanics rather than behaving like a normal whip.

The collision system also works with large or unusual targets, including multipart entities such as the Ender Dragon and entities such as End Crystals.

Aiming

Whip attacks are based on the actual position and movement of the cord.

Targets around your crosshair can be hit normally. Outside this area, the whip is restricted to hostile mobs to reduce accidental hits caused by the cord swinging around.
