About this project

What does Astral Core add?

✨ Astral Core

The magic-systems library behind Majestic: essence, spell casting, rituals, research and relics. Adds no content on its own — other mods build on it.

NeoForge Minecraft 1.21.1 Library MIT license

✨ Overview

Astral Core is the shared magic engine of the Majestic ecosystem. It ships no spells, rituals or relics of its own — it gives other mods (starting with Majestic itself) the frameworks to build them on top of: a single per-player essence resource, a spell-casting pipeline, a multiblock ritual engine, a per-player research graph, and a relic framework bridged to Regalia Slots API.

If you were told to install this mod, it's because another mod on your instance depends on it — most likely Majestic.

🎯 Features

🔮 Essence

A single, server-authoritative magic resource per player: capacity, passive regeneration out of combat, and stackable modifiers from any source (altars, biomes, relics, research). Synced to the client automatically.

✨ Spell Casting

A registrable spell-type system with a full cast pipeline (pre-cast → cost check → effect → post-cast), per-player cooldowns, targeting helpers (raycast, area, self, projectile), and client-side hooks for particles and sound.

🏛️ Ritual Engine

A multiblock altar framework: structure validation against a tag-matched shape, ritual phases and lifecycle, configurable failure risk, and NBT-persisted state — ready for any mod to build concrete altars and rituals on top of.

📖 Research Graph

A per-player knowledge graph of unlockable nodes with prerequisite checks, synced automatically, and a trigger API so other mods can report progress ("item obtained", "structure entered") without Astral Core needing to know what they mean.

💎 Relics

A relic behaviour contract (equip / unequip / passive tick / active ability) bridged to Regalia Slots API's equip slots, plus a set-synergy system for bonuses when multiple related relics are worn together.

🧱 Mod Structure

Package What it provides
essence The per-player magic resource, its passive regen, modifiers and client sync.
cast The spell behaviour contract, its registry, cast context/result, targeting helpers and cooldowns.
ritual The multiblock/altar engine: structure validation, ritual lifecycle and risk.
research The per-player knowledge graph and its unlock/trigger API.
relic The relic behaviour contract and its bridge to Regalia Slots API, including set synergies.

📋 Requirements

Minecraft 1.21.1
NeoForge 21.1.249+
Java 21
Side Client and Server (required on both)
Depends on Regalia Slots API

🎮 How to Use

  1. Install as a dependency of another mod that requires it (e.g. Majestic), on both client and server.
  2. Install Regalia Slots API alongside it.
  3. There is nothing to configure directly — Astral Core has no player-facing content by itself.

Early development. Astral Core is still pre-release (0.0.0-beta.x) and its API may change between betas.
