About this project
What does Cobblemon Ext add?
Cobblemon Ext
A NeoForge library for addons that need additional Cobblemon battle events and a bridge to its Showdown battle engine. This is a dependency library. It adds no items or standalone gameplay. Install it when an addon, such as Poopy Cobblemon, asks for it.
For addon developers
- Subscribe to move-use, battle-ready, active-Pokemon-change, turn, and battle-end events.
- Read the latest executed battle turn through
ExtEvents.currentTurn. - Apply damage through
ExtBridge.applyDamage, leaving the target at least 1 HP. - Apply stat-stage changes through
ExtBridge.applyBoost. - Preserve Showdown's private and public HP messages when applying damage.
The JavaScript bridge is applied inside the running battle-engine context without overwriting Cobblemon's files. See the API documentation for event timing and initialization requirements.
Installation
For Minecraft 1.21.1 / NeoForge / Java 21. Install Cobblemon Ext on both client and server, together with:
- Cobblemon — tested with 1.7.3 NeoForge.
- Kotlin for Forge — tested with 5.12.0.
NeoForge 21.1.240 is the tested loader version. PoopSky and Poopy Cobblemon are not required by this library. Compatibility with other Cobblemon versions requires testing because the library hooks into battle internals.
