About this project
What does Anima: Soul Magic add?
The Spiritual Successor to "Intangible"
Anima is a magic and automation mod about discovering forbidden soul magic and extracting the souls of your victims to power it. Grow strange crystals, shape laboratory glassware, decipher soul-extraction sequences, and turn a small workshop into the heart of your dark magic.
An independent spiritual successor to Intangible by Emoniph, Anima brings soul research, possession and occult machinery to the latest versions of Minecraft with a more complete system of progression.
Build a laboratory of dark and forbidden research
Melt crystal in lava. Work a bellows. Stamp circuits from Soulbone. Arrange glass apparatus behind a Bone Cage and experiment until a creature's spirit emerges. Soul extraction sequences vary by world, with each successful step helping you discover the next.
Gather spirits into a Soul Well and route them through relays. Those souls can power your spells or automate work for you.
Power your magic spells with souls
Discover 39 spells across healing, movement, combat, utility and summoning. Draw on Benign souls to nurture life, Infernal souls to wield fire and Ender souls to cross space. Carry your collection in Soul Gems, explore for encrypted spell books and translate your discoveries at the Research Table.
Blink across a ravine. Unleash a swarm of soul lights. Animate an ally from the earth. Prepare the souls you need for the journey ahead.

Step outside yourself with posession
Use a Mirror to glimpse the world as a spirit, bind yourself to a creature with a Soul Leash, or learn Incorporeal to explore and move between eligible hosts. Your body stays behind and remains vulnerable.
For a body of your own making, assemble a Workshop Golem piece by piece. Take control of its powerful frame, fight, dig, carry supplies in its persistent cargo and operate machinery that demands a golem's strength.

Put the afterlife to work to automate your home
Build soul-powered systems for harvesting, gathering, breeding, shearing, forestry, block placement and breaking. Match workers to their preferred jobs, manage your reserves and connect your workshop with hoppers and redstone.
Beyond the workshop, you can restore undead mobs through corporeal reconstruction and offer souls at an altar for themed enchantments.

Perform soul infusion rituals to craft powerful tools
Perform infusions to forge Soulbone armor and create Saronite. A Saronite Sword lets you claim eligible creatures' souls directly into carried bottles, opening a new stage of your soul economy.
At the end of that path, harvest God Souls from formidable creatures and forge the Ring of Power. Carry it to take flight in survival, with dark feathered wings at your back.

Create a god and build your cult
Use the Deity Fabricator to give a God Soul a name and a place in your world. Choose your god’s blessings, curses, divine power and sacred offering, then customize its symbol, shrine color and worship sound.
Raise shrines, make offerings and become a devoted priest, or follow a god created by another player. Wield a Priest Rod to bless followers and curse enemies. Help your god rise to the top of the Pantheon to invoke its divine power, from calling storms to restoring equipment or bringing life to your fields.
Your shrines also become a network of sacred destinations. Spend worship to travel between them, even across dimensions.

Challenge the gods and claim their power
Build a Deity Hammer to challenge a deity and call its cosmic avatar down from the sky.
Face a six-armed boss through three escalating phases. Dodge falling stars, leap over expanding shockwaves and escape its pursuit. Challenge it alone or bring allies, as the encounter scales with participating fighters.
Victory permanently removes the god from the Pantheon. Deliver the final blow with a Saronite Sword while carrying an empty bottle to claim its God Soul.

Craft the Necronomicon with a book and a bone.
Craft them together to make The Necronomicon, your in-game guide to Anima's progression, recipes, spells and structures. Its chapters remain available whenever you need them, with projectable multiblock guides and 85 advancements to mark your discoveries.
