About this project
What does Sol's Obscure Tooltip FIX add?
Sol's Obscure Rarity FIX
A companion addon for the third-party mod Sol's Obscure Rarity (original author: JaquavionBennet) — it does not replace or modify that mod's jar in any way. Install both side by side.
Why this exists
As of Fragmentum 5.0.0, Sol's Obscure Rarity crashes the game at mod loading with NoClassDefFoundError. Its constructor calls three Fragmentum APIs directly (FragmentumRegistry.registrar(...) twice, and a BuiltInPackBuilder... resource-pack chain) that were all relocated or removed entirely in Fragmentum's 5.0.0 package restructure, so the mod can no longer construct itself at all.
This addon neutralizes those three broken calls (without ever touching Sol's Obscure Rarity's own jar) and re-implements every one of the jobs they used to do — item filter, lightning-bolt tooltip particle, and tooltip style assets — itself, through Fragmentum-version-independent paths. The end result looks and behaves identically to the original mod running on its intended, older Fragmentum version.
Features
- Fixes the FML crash — Sol's Obscure Rarity loads and works again alongside current Fragmentum/Obscure Tooltips versions
- Full feature parity with the original, including its Supreme/Mythical lightning-bolt tooltip effect
- All six non-common Sol's Item Rarity tiers (Uncommon through Supreme) get the original mod's own hand-crafted panel/glow/shimmer tooltip styling
- If Sol's Obscure Tooltip is also installed, this addon automatically steps aside so the two don't both try to style the same tooltips
- Client-side only; safe to install on a server, where it simply does nothing
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.20.1
- Minecraft Forge 47+
- Sol's Obscure Rarity (required — this addon patches it, it does not replace it)
- Obscure Tooltips 3.10.0+ (required by Sol's Obscure Rarity)
- Fragmentum 5.0.0+ (required by Obscure Tooltips)
- Sol's Item Rarity 1.71+ (required by Sol's Obscure Rarity)
- Sol's Obscure Tooltip (optional — if present, this addon yields to it automatically)
Notes
This is an unofficial third-party addon, not affiliated with the author of Sol's Obscure Rarity, Obscure Tooltips, Fragmentum, or Sol's Item Rarity. You still need to install Sol's Obscure Rarity itself separately — this addon has nothing to style without it.
