About this project

What does stones.core add?

StonesStones is a mod for Minecraft. It adds a skill progression system that uses your vanilla XP levels.

You assemble your skill tree with blocks and items in the world.
General FeaturesXP Level Progression: Your experience level unlocks socket positions on your connected Runestone. For example, a socket with a level 10 requirement becomes active when you reach level 10.
World Generation: Runestone blocks generate in the world. You must explore and find them. Every Runestone has a different layout.
Runes in Loot: You can find Minor, Major, and Milestone runes in chests throughout the world.
Cluster Jewels: These items are rare endgame items that give large stat bonuses.

Active Skills: You can use active skills through custom scripts.
Runestone MechanicsYou cannot mine a Runestone block with standard tools.
To move a Runestone block, you must use a diamond pickaxe or a netherite pickaxe with the Silk Touch enchantment.
If you break a Runestone block without Silk Touch, the items in the sockets fall on the ground.
To link your player character to a Runestone, hold the right mouse button on the block.
Dependencies and CustomizationThe core mod operates without other mods.
You can install the KubeJS mod to write custom skills and behaviors.
You can install the Actionbar mod to show active skill buttons on your screen.

You can change rune properties and socket layouts with custom datapacks.

Related Content A Editor Addon. A visual texture pack is available on CurseForge if you want custom visuals for the mod.
A Leaderboard is available if you want to get runes as death rewards instead of chest loot. (You can use its included configuration file to stop runes from spawning in chests. )
