About this project
What does Epic Fight - Usurper Arts add?
Usurper Arts
Usurper Arts is an Epic Fight combat addon created primarily for the Realm of the Titans modpack.
The skills, names, descriptions, and mechanics in this mod are designed around the lore and combat systems used within Realm of the Titans.
In Realm of the Titans, Everflow is the energy used as Mana by spellcasters and supernatural beings.
Sovereigns command Everflow. Usurpers consume it.
Usurper Arts introduces a complete anti-magic fighting style focused on draining Mana, disrupting spellcasting, suppressing Mana regeneration, punishing defensive play, detecting magic users, and converting stolen Everflow into Epic Fight Stamina.
Usurper Skills
Usurper Arts adds 10 custom Epic Fight skills, consisting of 6 Identity Skills and 4 Passive Skills.
Identity Skills
Everflow Reaver
Physical attacks drain Everflow from players and convert the amount drained into Stamina.
Attacking undead, magical creatures, bosses, and other Everflow-based entities restores Stamina directly.
Everflow Reaver serves as the foundation of the Usurper fighting style.
Sovereign Silence
Successful physical attacks build Sovereign Silence on the target, up to 5 stacks.
At 5 stacks, the target's connection to Everflow is temporarily disrupted.
Their Mana regeneration is stopped, active casting is cancelled, and new spells are temporarily prevented.
Deadflow Domain
The Usurper creates an anti-magic presence around themselves that disrupts nearby Everflow.
Enemies inside the Domain cannot naturally regenerate Mana and their spellcasting is suppressed.
Deadflow Domain is designed to interfere with normal spells, instant spells, and quick-cast magic.
Flowbreaker
When an enemy successfully blocks one of your physical attacks, they gain a Flowbreaker stack.
At maximum stacks, the target loses Mana and temporarily suffers reduced Mana regeneration.
Flowbreaker is designed to punish opponents who continuously rely on Guard skills.
Certain special Guard abilities are excluded to prevent conflicts with their unique mechanics.
Predator of the Arcane
The Usurper senses disturbances created by the movement of Everflow.
Nearby spellcasters can be temporarily revealed when they use Mana or begin casting magic.
Detected enemies are marked with a private outline and a directional sound cue that is only shown to the player using Predator of the Arcane.
The skill is designed to detect normal casting, quick-cast magic, magical entities, and supported supernatural boss attacks.
Predator of the Arcane has a cooldown between detections.
Hollowing Strikes
Successful physical attacks build Hollowing Strikes, up to 5 stacks.
At 5 stacks, a larger amount of Mana is ripped from the target and converted into the Usurper's Stamina.
Against Everflow-based creatures that do not use a normal player Mana pool, completing the combo instead grants a burst of Stamina.
Deadflow Ward
Crouch while guarding with an eligible Guard skill to create a spinning anti-magic sphere that intercepts incoming magical projectiles and rejects supported targeting spells.
This Identity strengthens your defense against Everflow-based attacks, consuming Stamina immediately on activation and every 3 seconds while maintained.
Passive Skills
Withered Current
Every successful physical attack temporarily weakens the target's Mana regeneration.
Each hit reduces Mana regeneration by 5%, stacking up to a maximum reduction of 30%.
Continued pressure keeps the target's Everflow weakened.
Spellrend
Physically striking an enemy while they are casting interrupts their spell.
Against players, Spellrend also drains Mana and converts part of the stolen Everflow into Stamina.
The target is then briefly prevented from immediately beginning another cast.
Broken Circuit
When an Usurper ability completely drains a player's Mana, Broken Circuit activates.
The target's Mana regeneration and spellcasting are temporarily shut down.
The Usurper also receives a burst of Stamina.
Relentless Usurpation
Deal increased physical damage to enemies whose Everflow is currently being suppressed by an Usurper ability.
This allows the different Usurper skills to work together as a complete fighting style rather than functioning as separate effects.
Custom Usurper Skill Tree
Usurper Arts includes its own custom progression tree with compatibility for:
The Usurper tree includes:
- A custom red and black visual theme
- Custom Usurper skill icons
- Its own Skill Tree icon
- Custom Ability Point costs
- Multiple progression branches
- Skill prerequisites
- Boss-locked progression
More powerful abilities are placed deeper within the tree instead of allowing every skill to be obtained immediately.
Deadflow Ward acts as one of the final Usurper abilities and requires progression through other parts of the tree before it can be learned.
Boss-Locked Progression
The Usurper Skill Tree begins locked.
To awaken the path of the Usurper, the player must first defeat a powerful boss.
Once the requirement is completed, the Usurper Skill Tree is permanently unlocked for that player.
The boss detection system was designed around the large number of bosses available within Realm of the Titans and supports both vanilla and modded boss encounters.
Realm of the Titans includes boss-focused content from mods such as:
- L_Ender's Cataclysm
- Bosses of Mass Destruction
- Mowzie's Mobs
- Aquamirae
- Alex's Caves
- Dungeon Now Loading
- Ice and Fire
- The Deep Void
- And other boss-oriented content included within the modpack
The system can automatically recognize many boss-style entities instead of relying entirely on a small hard-coded boss list.
Designed For Realm of the Titans
Usurper Arts was created specifically for:
Because of this, terms such as Everflow, Sovereigns, and Usurpers are connected to the lore and mechanics of Realm of the Titans.
This is also why several skill names and descriptions reference concepts that may not exist in a normal Minecraft installation.
The mod can still be used outside of Realm of the Titans as long as its required dependencies are installed, but its terminology and overall design are intended to fit naturally into the modpack.
