About this project

What does Potentia add?

Potentia is an original addon that takes inspiration from various universes. The theme revolves around the premise that powers are all genetically bound to the player.

Powers in the addon are built up around base attributes and special powers, alongside the possibilities of various genetic defects and weaknesses. The abilities revolve around a Stamina system. Check out the Trello page that features near all information about Potentia.

This is a palladium addon that uses certain dependencies. Remember to download those

Serums

There are four main categories of serums:

Potentia: Gives Superpowers

Potentia is the serum that activates and enables the mutations in an organism that allows them to manifest unatural capabilities. There are 10 different versions of potentia, all being on a scale from worst to best. Worse versions of Potentia has a higher chance of death and genetic defects. When getting genetic defect, you will also recieve powers, as those defects won’t manifest without the serum in your bloodstream, as the serum is the source of these defects.

These are the Potentia serums, ranging From Worst to best:

Potentia Prototyoe

Potentia

Potentia Alpha

Potentia Beta

Potentia V

Potentia Gamma

Potentia Delta

Potentia Omicron

Potentia Omega

Potentia X

Debilis: Removes superpowers

Debilis is the counter version for Potentia. Debilis burns the Potentia out of a beings bloodstream, removing their powers. Debilis doesn’t alter you in any way. It simply removes the Potentia, which is what gives you your power. Reinjecting yourself with Potentia won’t change your powers, as Debilis didn’t undo the mutations of your first use of Potentia.

Debilis has 4 different versions. Earlier versions have lower chance of success, and can cause death and withering effects. They range from:

Debilis A (Worst)

Debilis B

Debilis C

Debilis D (Best)

Temporalis: Gives temporary superpowers

Temporalis is a conjunction of Potentia and Debilis. It gives the user powers for a limited amount of time, before Temporalis disperses in the users bloodstream. Temporalis has Zero chance of causing death or genetic defects, and can be relatively easy to produce.

The downside of Temporalis are the effects after use. After using Temporalis the first time, nothing will happen. Continuous use of temporalis without enough time between each use, will build up Temporalis sickness. This sickness will very slowly fade away. The more “Sick” you are, the more sick will you get upon another use. Temporalis sickness can evolve into Temporalis Illness, which gives you permanent slowness and occasional blackouts.

If you pass a certain threshold, your Temporalis Illness will become chronic, meaning you can’t naturally get rid of the Illness. If you still continue to use Temporalis at this point, you will develop Temporalis Withering. This will now give you occasional withering effects and even more blackouts.

The only way to get rid of Temporalis Illness/Withering is by using Potentia X

Imminuere: Temporary Depower

Imminuere is a serum that Temporarily blocks the Potentia from the bloodstream. It’s not capable of burning out the Potentia like debilis, which makes it useful for temporarily depowering. Imminuere is the least costly serum to make

Nucleotides

Nucleotides are the building blocks of DNA. By extracting genomes from mobs with Potentia mutations, you can obtain nucleotides. The nucleotides are extracted with a gene extractor which will end up killing the target. The quality of the nucleotide is dependent on the attributes that the target has for the specific nucleotide. You can check this with a Genetic Analyzer

These special nucleotides come in 10 different tiers and are used to create Potentia serums. You can enhance a lower-tier nucleotide by combining it with another and glowstone dust. They are also used to make DNA Segments.

Powers

Powers from the potential serum is bound to the player. No matter how many times you remove them, they won't change (unless you do some genetic modifications). Powers consists of base attributes and special powers

Base Attributes

Attributes are the generic physical capabilities of a ‘Supe’. They range from F tier to S tier, though there can be several levels of an attribute within one tier. F Tier is equal to that of a normal human.

These are given at random. You’re as likely to get an F tier as an S tier. Attributes like fire resistance, night vision etc, has a 50% chance of either.

The Attributes Tiers rarely take into account your special power. You can for example have a special power that boosts your strength a lot, making it generally more powerful than what your Strength tier represents. However, the attributes are mostly meant to represent your natural physical attributes, unrelated to how they work in relation with a special power.

Special Powers

Special Powers are often powers that makes different ‘Supes’ different from each other. Some Special Powers can be further enhanced through usuage of genetic points. All upgrades are found in the skill tree.

You start out with one special power, but can at max get 3 through genetic modifications

Stamina System

Almost all Abilities are dependent on Stamina. Upon becoming a ‘Supe’, an energy bar will appear. You will start off with 100 stamina

Stamina

The energy bar represents your stamina. Stamina is used when utilizing most abilities. The stamina bar will turn black when depowered and red when the player is drained of stamina. When drained of stamina the player gets some debuffs, and a prolonged replenishment of stamina. How long you’re drained, depends on how much stamina you overused.

Stamina Replenishment

You will replenish 0.05% of your max stamina every 4 seconds. When reaching 2000 or more max stamina, your stamina replenishment will no longer increase.

This limiter, is to avoid players being able to replenish stamina faster than you can use them, as then it really doesn’t matter whether you have 5 000 mana or 50 000 stamina, as in both instances, you’d be able to freely use your abilities. Not having this cap prevents power scaling beyond a certain point.

Increasing Stamina

Your max Stamina is how much Stamina you can have at your disposal. This one can increase practically forever

To increase your max stamina, you need to use your max stamina to increase your max stamina with +1. An example: If you have 70 max stamina, you need to use 70 stamina to increase your max stamina to 71.

When reaching 2000 max stamina, the max stamina use requirement will no longer increase. Meaning if you have 2500 max stamina , you will only need to use 2000 stamina to increase your max stamina to 2501. So in short, your stamina replenishment will eventually be limited, but in return you will relatively gain a higher max amount of stamina

Death

Dying decreases your max stamina by 2%

Stamina Bar

Genetic Modifications

Key words in relation to genetic modifications are Genetic Points, DNA-Segments and Weaknesses

Genetic Points

Genetic Points are your most valuable asset in the addon. These can be used to alter your genetics with genetic modules. All players start with 14 genetic points. The only way to increase them, is by taking on a weakness.

DNA-Segments

DNA Segments are what’s used to modify your powers and attributes. They are all dependent on usage of genetic points. They also generally require to be depowered when using DNA Segments, and you have to be free of cellular stress. When getting a new special power (either by modifying an existing one or by getting a completely new one), you will have to remove your powers with debilis and reactivate your powers with Potentia to get its effects

Crafting

All DNA segments are crafted through Nucleotides and blood. Blood can be extracted with a syringe.

Modify Special Power

To modify a special power, you need the right DNA segment. Read the Tool Tips. Modifying a special power, requires you to have a special power in the slot you’re modifying. Which slot it’s in is based on WHEN you got that power. In what order compared to your other special techniques. To modify a special power, you will have to spend 2 genetic points. You risk the chance of the modification not working, as your body has adapted strongly to your current power.

Secondary/Third Special Power

You can get a secondary or a third special power with the right DNA Segment. Each use will cost 5 genetic points, and you run the risk of not getting another power, although that chance is relatively low.

Attribute Segments

Distinct attribute segments can increase your attribute by one level. One Level is NOT equal to one tier. So using Attribute Segments won’t always increase your attribute tier, but it will increase your attribute. Attribute segments all costs 1 genetic point with the exception of flight. If you do not naturally have flight as a power, you will have to spend 3 genetic points unlocking the first level of it.

Weakness

Weaknesses are unfavourable mutations you can take upon yourself in the exchange for genetic points, as it opens up the space for other favourable genetic mutations.

By using the DNA Weakness potent DNA segment, and using it while depowered, will grant you a random weakness. The amount of genetic points you will get is dependent on the severity of the weakness. You can have at max 3 weaknesses, and there is no way to get rid of them. Be mindful before taking on a weakness

It is possible to get two weaknesses of the same type. This will grant you free genetic points.
