About this project
What does Arcane Horizons: Culinary Convergence add?
Arcane Horizons: Culinary Convergence
Make your food mods feel like they were designed to work together.
Arcane Horizons: Culinary Convergence is a Forge 1.20.1 compatibility and integration mod built around one simple idea: installing more food mods should expand your cooking experience, not divide it into separate ecosystems.
Many food and farming mods add similar crops, ingredients, meats, cooking methods, and recipes, but those items are often only recognized by their original mod. Culinary Convergence works to bridge those systems while preserving the content that makes each mod unique.
🍳 What Culinary Convergence Does
Instead of simply removing duplicate ingredients, Culinary Convergence tries to understand what an ingredient represents and allow compatible food systems to share it.
For example, if several installed mods provide tomatoes, recipes that simply require a tomato should be able to recognize compatible tomatoes rather than demanding one specific mod's version.
The same philosophy can apply to:
Crops and vegetables
Fruits
Grains
Meat and seafood
Dairy products
Cheese
Oils and cooking fats
Spices and seasonings
Sauces
Dough and bread
Processed ingredients
Meals and prepared foods
🥕 Preserve Content, Improve Compatibility
Culinary Convergence is not intended to erase other mods' content just because two mods add something similar.
The goal is:
Preserve content. Eliminate unnecessary incompatibility.
Two ingredients may look similar while actually representing different varieties or processing stages. Culinary Convergence can distinguish concepts such as:
Whole → Sliced → Crushed → Paste → Sauce → Cooked
Meaningful differences can remain while genuinely interchangeable ingredients can work together.
🔪 Connect Cooking Systems
Different mods may provide their own ways to:
Cut, grind, mix, knead, press, boil, simmer, fry, bake, roast, grill, smoke, ferment, brew, dry, or freeze food.
Culinary Convergence is designed to help these systems cooperate instead of requiring every food mod to live inside its own isolated recipe ecosystem.
🌾 Built for Large Modpacks
Culinary Convergence is being designed with large food-focused and kitchen-heavy modpacks in mind.
The project can integrate with food ecosystems such as Farmer's Delight, Croptopia, Pam's HarvestCraft, Butchery, Create-based cooking systems, dimension-specific foods, and other compatible food and farming mods.
Supported mods are intended to remain optional. You should not need every supported food mod installed just to use Culinary Convergence.
🧩 More Than Duplicate Removal
The long-term goal includes identifying and improving:
Duplicate ingredients
Isolated recipes
Missing cross-mod recipe support
Conflicting processing systems
Duplicate crops
Unreachable recipes
Ingredient naming differences
Food balance inconsistencies
Cooking-system compatibility
Villager food and farming integration
JEI recipe organization
Automation compatibility
When possible, poorly integrated content should be connected or improved rather than simply deleted.
✨ The Arcane Horizons Philosophy
Arcane Horizons projects are built around a common rule:
Find parts of modded Minecraft that are fragmented, duplicated, incompatible, or isolated—and make them feel like one ecosystem without unnecessarily replacing the mods that created them.
Culinary Convergence applies that philosophy to food, farming, ingredients, recipes, and cooking.
Install the food mods you enjoy.
Culinary Convergence helps bring the kitchen together.
