About this project
What does Have A Smoke add?
Have A Smoke adds cigarettes, cigars and everything around them, made to feel like part of vanilla: small 3D models, flat inventory icons, vanilla-style sounds and particles, and no real brands.
A cosmetic, fictional take on smoking for a block game. No real brands, no endorsement. Smoking is bad for you; creepers agree.

Light up
- Creeper Lights cigarettes (paper + dried kelp, five at a time) and Piglin Gold cigars (dried kelp block, paper, brown dye).
- Light one with a Blaze Lighter or Strike-Anywhere Matches in your other hand, with flint and steel, or by looking at any fire: a campfire, a torch, a lantern, a candle, lava, a lit furnace…
- The lighter has fuel and refills with blaze powder; a matchbox holds 16 matches.
Take a drag
- Hold use to puff: your hand rises to your mouth (first and third person), and a moment later you exhale a cloud of smoke everyone can see.
- Every puff adds a little Haste, Speed, Regeneration and Calm (hunger drains slower), up to a minute of each. No downsides, no addiction.
- A lit smoke burns down on its own, even in your pocket, with a glowing, flickering ember and a thin wisp of smoke. Cigars last much longer, smoke thicker, and can be put out and relit later.
Leftovers
- When it's done you're left with a butt or a stub.
- Stub it out in an ashtray: 17 colours, one for each terracotta, filling up with butts and ash.
- Or flick it away with sneak + attack, if you must.
Carry a pack
- A Pack of Creeper Lights holds 20 cigarettes. Use it to pull one straight into your hand; load and unload it like a bundle. The lid opens when there's something inside.
Share
- Sneak + use a cigarette or cigar on a friend to give them one, light theirs with your lighter, or pass your lit one.
Find
- Rare finds in village houses, shipwrecks, buried treasure, outposts, mansions, dungeons and mineshafts.
- The wandering trader sells some; piglins sometimes barter a cigar.
- An advancement tab with 14 advancements (Chain Smoker, Litterbug, Hot Lips…) and statistics for cigarettes and cigars smoked, puffs taken and butts flicked.
Config
Server settings for puffs per smoke, burn time, buff lengths and cap, buffs on or off, lighter fuel, matches per box, and loot on or off. On Fabric, Forge Config API Port is required; Mod Menu shows the config screen.
