About this project

What does Mine Crossbreed add?

Crossbreed Minecraft animals and see what comes out.

Crossbreed currently features twelve hybrids, each with its own abilities, habits, and personality. Equip your mounts with saddles and iron, gold, or diamond horse armor, ride them into battle, or discover new ways to explore. This is just the beginning: more combinations, texture variants, unique behaviors, and practical uses are planned.

When a mob is rideable, some actions, such as equipping armor or telling it to sit, require Shift + right-click.

  • Roostersteed - Horse + Chicken: A rideable mount with a double jump, gliding, and a peck attack. Four skins: original, white and gold, copper and black, and speckled brown.
  • Ramsteed - Horse + Sheep: Charges into enemies, dealing damage and knockback. Can break a block on impact. Sometimes scratches its horns against wood.
  • Haresteed - Horse + Rabbit: A fast mount with high jumps, a forward boost when jumping, and no fall damage.
  • Buzzhowl - Wolf + Bee: A flying mount with a poisonous sting. Fetches thrown sticks, circles you after feeding, and sometimes sneezes pollen that helps crops grow.
  • Honeyhorn - Cow + Bee: A flying mount with a sting. Visits flowers, attracts nearby bees with its dance, and shelters in beehives at night or during rain.
  • Bristlehop - Pig + Rabbit: Naps near carrot crops, reacts when you hold food, and doesn’t trample farmland.
  • Cluckclaw - Cat + Chicken: Dodges attacks, then pounces toward the attacker. Can attack while chasing enemies. Eats dropped seeds and sometimes grooms itself. Four skins: orange, charcoal black, silver tabby, and calico.
  • Crowfang - Wolf + Chicken: A tameable companion that bites, pounces, and sits on command. Takes short flights when calm. Four skins: copper, ashen, russet, and midnight.
  • Woolcow - Cow + Sheep: Can be milked with a bucket and sheared for wool. Regrows its wool after eating grass.
  • Cluckhorn - Chicken + Cow: Lays eggs and can be milked with a bucket. Sometimes scratches the ground. Its eggs can hatch into baby Cluckhorns.
  • Wildfang - Horse + Wolf: Combat mount
  • Silkstalker - Wolf + Spider: Shoots webs and applies poison when it bites. (Breed using raw beef. May conflict with other mods that allow spiders to breed)

Cat + Chicken

Horse + Bunny (with iron armor and saddle)

Chicken + Wolf

Requirements

  • Citadel - I used 2.4.9 for testing
  • Geckolib - I used 4.2.4 for testing, probably any version from 4.x.x
