About this project

What does Mobs Attempt Parkour Updated add?

A one-block gap, a stream or a strip of lava usually sends a zombie the long way round. With this mod, mobs that are chasing you jump over it instead, as long as they can make the jump: gaps, lava, water, fire, cactus and berry bushes.

Updated port of Mobs Attempt Parkour by Barribob, for Fabric and NeoForge on 1.21.1, 1.21.11, 26.2 and 26.3. Please report bugs here.

How it works

When a mob is chasing something, it looks at the next couple of blocks ahead. If there's a gap or something it would rather not walk into, it works out whether its speed and jump height are enough to get across. If they are, it jumps. Jump Boost is taken into account, so a buffed zombie will clear a gap a normal one won't.

Water is a special case: over a small stream, mobs usually jump it rather than wade through, but not every single time.

It's one jump at a time, along the path the mob was already taking. Mobs won't plan a route across a parkour course, and if there's no path towards you at all, like a moat that goes all the way round your base, they won't try to jump it.

A zombie jumping a stream

By default these mobs can jump: zombie, zombie villager, zombified piglin, skeleton, wither skeleton, spider, cave spider, enderman, silverfish, endermite, pillager, vindicator, illusioner, witch, creeper and iron golem.

Config

The config is at config/mobs_attempt_parkour/config.json. It's just a list of mobs and how high the jump goal sits in their AI. Take a mob out to stop it jumping, or add any mob id you like, including ones from other mods. If you have a config from the original mod, it still works.
