Botania GTO Edition
A build of Botania (Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge) maintained specifically for the GregTech Odyssey modpack. It keeps the mod ID botania, so existing worlds and Botania addons stay compatible, while adjusting balance and performance to fit the modpack.
Unless you are playing GregTech Odyssey or have a specific reason to use this version, you probably want the official Botania instead.
What's different from the original
The full list of gameplay differences is in GTO_CHANGES.md. Highlights:
Mana
- Fabulous Mana Pool capacity raised from 1,000,000 to 100,000,000.
- Mana Sparks transfer in batches once per second (20,000 per transfer); average throughput is unchanged.
Flowers
- Orechid / Orechid Ignem: much lower mana cost per operation (100 / 120), smaller working range (3 × 1), and Orechid Ignem now works in any dimension.
- Marimorphosis: 25 mana per operation, 10-tick interval, smaller range (4 × 2).
- Entropinnyum can accept mana injected beyond its normal cap from the modpack.
Runic Altar
- Recipes may declare
"return_runes": falseto consume runes instead of returning them; EMI shows this. Recipes without the field behave as in the original.
Gaia Guardian
- Per-hit damage cap raised from 32 to 10,000.
Performance
- Several flowers and blocks update less frequently (e.g. Hopperhock every 40 ticks, functional-flower redstone checks every 20 ticks), which can cause small, noticeable delays.
