S'nS Core

Core content mod for the modpack Steam & Stratosphere: Skybound — Season 2 "Ascension".

The world climbs up to Y500 in five altitude tiers. SS Core adds the materials, dangers and steampunk machines that make each tier different.

Features

• Three altitude ores: Vaporite (Y200-280), Orichalcum (Y280-400) and Aetherite (Y400-500). Each has raw, crushed and storage-block forms, Create processing recipes and ore veins that glow in the dark.
• Alloys: Orichalcum Brass, Steam Steel and Aetheric Alloy. Each alloy needs materials from several tiers.
• Tier pickaxes: Vaporite, Orichalcum Brass and Aetherite. A tier's ore can only be mined with that tier's pickaxe or a better one.
• Cold: Frostbite starts above Y280 and gets worse as you climb. Armor protects you once it is insulated.
• Insulation: Basic Insulation Pads and Advanced Insulation Pads. Craft a pad with any armor piece to insulate it.
• Cabin Pressurizers (Create kinetic blocks, they use stress): Brass, Orichalcum Brass and Aetheric. Each one keeps a bubble of breathable, warm air around your airship. You can set the bubble size, and a Ponder scene shows how it works.
• Armor Plating: craft an Armor Plate with almost any full block to get an armored version of that block. It keeps the original look, resists explosions, comes back with the Create wrench and keeps its real mass for Sable physics.
• Drill heads for the Create Stuff 'N Additions Portable Drill: they let the drill mine the tier ores and make its tanks bigger.
• Aerial Leap: a boots enchantment that gives one extra jump in mid-air, recharged when you touch the ground.
• Levitation Core and Aerolite Buoyancy Block for very high airships.

Optional HD textures: the SS Core x32 and SS Core x64 resource packs come with the modpack.

SS Core was made for Steam & Stratosphere: Skybound. It works on its own, but the rules for each altitude tier (where ores generate, quests, hypoxia) live in the modpack.
