About this project
What does Hearth & Blade add?
Vanilla, extended. New weapons, farming, food, tools and creatures that feel like they were always part of Minecraft. No new menus to learn and no tech trees: just more to do in the world you already know.
Requires Fabric Loader and Fabric API for Minecraft 26.2.
⚔️ Weapons
Four new weapons in iron, diamond and netherite, each with its own way of fighting:
| Weapon | Iron damage | Speed | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dagger | 4 | Very fast | Double damage from behind. Right-click to parry: deflect a hit, stagger the attacker and get a burst of speed to slip behind it. |
| Katana | 5 | Fast | Sweeping attack. Fully charged hits cause Bleeding. |
| Warhammer | 9 | Slow | Charged hits stun and knock back. Disables shields. |
| Scythe | 6.5 | Medium | 4-block reach and a sweep. Charged hits Wither. Also reaps ripe crops in a 3×3 and replants them. |
✨ Enchantments
- Weapons: Lifesteal, Venom, Frostbite, Thunderstrike (calls lightning) and Uppercut (sneak attacks).
- Armor: Vitality (extra max health) and Frost Guard (attackers may freeze).
🧪 Potions
Haste, Rage, Iron Skin, Bleeding and Frostbite, each with longer and stronger versions and their own tipped arrows.
🪨 Slingshot & Pebbles
Mining stone, cobblestone or obsidian sometimes drops pebbles. Fire them from a wooden Slingshot, or craft 10 kinds of ammo: explosive, glowstone, fire, frost, poison, slime, ender (teleports you!), iron, obsidian and plain.
🌽 Farming & Villages
- Corn grows on village farms. Bake it into Cornbread.
- Blueberries grow wild in every taiga.
- The Millstone grinds wheat into flour, cobblestone into gravel, bones into bone meal and more.
- A new villager, the Miller, lives in a timber-framed mill house with a working water wheel. It can appear in all five village types.
🦡 The Badger
A nocturnal, neutral mob of forests and plains. By day it sleeps under trees, and at night it digs up your carrots and potatoes…
…unless you tame it with corn or sweet berries. Give it a Pet Bed and it becomes a farmhand: it harvests and replants every ripe crop within 17 blocks and puts the harvest in the nearest chest. Pet Beds work for dogs and cats too, and pets resting on their own bed slowly heal.
🍰 Food
- Soul Smoked Kabobs: Soul Speed for 20 seconds, no boots needed.
- Chocolate: you can eat it even when you're full.
- Cheese: pour milk into a cauldron and wait 9 seconds.
- Cheesecake and Chocolate Cake: placeable, sliceable cakes. Chocolate cake gives a sugar rush.
⛏️ The Drill
Place it, choose a Y level and press Start. It digs a shaft straight down, climbs back up placing ladders, hands you everything it mined, and packs itself back into your inventory. It never breaks bedrock.
🎒 Backpacks
- Miner's Backpack: collects ores and cobblestone.
- Rubble Backpack: collects gravel, granite, andesite and diorite.
Items you pick up go straight into the backpack. A new backpack slot in your inventory holds one, so it doesn't take up an inventory slot.
🏆 Also
- Two new advancements: Home Sweet Home and Rock Bottom.
- A cleaner Totem of Undying: no particle explosion and a much smaller pop-up.
- Every recipe shows up in the recipe book, and every item sits in the normal creative tabs.
Multiplayer: install Hearth & Blade on the server and on every player's game. Removing the mod from a world deletes its items and blocks from that world, so back up first.
