Minimalistics
A clean tech mod with honest numbers: generators, steam power, processing machines, cables and pipes that show exactly what they do and why they stop.
Quick answer
Which Minimalistics release should I use?
Minimalistics 0.1.2 targets 1.21.1 with NeoForge. The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both. All 1 required mods have matching files.
Where it goes
Is Minimalistics required on the client, server, or both?
The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both.
The source does not explicitly classify this release as client-only or server-only.
What else does Minimalistics 0.1.2 need?
Minimalistics 0.1.2. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
Install Minimalistics Core first. We found matching files for this game-version and loader setup. 2 come through another mod in the chain.
2 extra mods were pulled in by other dependencies. Indented rows show who needs each one. We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

About this project
What does Minimalistics add?

A tech mod that shows its work. Minimalistics adds generators, steam power, processing machines, cables and pipes to NeoForge 1.21.1, built so that every number on screen is real and every stopped machine tells you why.

One advanced cable on top joins solar panels, two batteries, a steam turbine and a coal generator to a crusher, an ore washer, an electric furnace, an alloy smelter, a press and an assembler; the boilers stand behind.

Start with a Coal Generator: 40 MU/t from coal, charcoal, wood and any other solid furnace fuel (lava belongs in the Lava Generator). Solar Panels add free daytime power, a Lava Generator turns each bucket of lava into 120 000 MU, and a Basic Battery (100 000 MU) or an Advanced Energy Storage (2 000 000 MU) keeps the surplus. Batteries keep their charge when you pick them up, and the two batteries an Advanced Energy Storage is crafted from give it theirs. The Energy Converter trades MU for Forge Energy and back without loss, so other tech mods can join in.

Every machine has the same minimal screen in the colour of its tier: the energy bar, the slots, a progress arrow and a status in plain words, like Output full or Low energy. Three tabs open the rest: Details lists every number of the machine, down to the time and energy of one operation with its upgrades (point at a short one for its exact value), Sides shows the machine unfolded with its real faces, coloured by what each side takes in and gives out, and Control holds the redstone and power priority settings. Progress is paid in energy, so a machine that runs short slows down instead of losing its work.
- Crusher: ores into twice as much crushed ore, cobblestone into gravel and sand.
- Ore Washer: two crushed ores and a quarter bucket of water give three dusts.
- Electric Furnace: smelts twice as fast as a furnace.
- Alloy Smelter: steel from iron and coal dust, conductive alloy from copper and redstone.
- Electric Press: ingots into plates.
- Advanced Assembler: circuits, composites and upgrades from up to six ingredients.
Each Speed Upgrade adds 50% speed, each Efficiency Upgrade takes 20% off the energy per operation, up to four of a kind per machine.

With JEI installed, every machine recipe shows what it takes, what it gives, the chance of extras and its power draw; the arrow's tooltip adds the time and energy of one operation, and clicking a machine's progress arrow opens its recipes. KEI lists them too.

The late game runs on steam. A Steam Boiler burns fuel, or takes the waste heat of a Lava Generator next to it, and boils water into steam. A Steam Turbine turns up to 150 mB of steam per tick into 300 MU/t and sends the condensed water straight back to the boilers through the same pipe. Steam is a gas, so it only travels in Reinforced Fluid Pipes. A Fluid Pump on a water source keeps the loop topped up for 10 MU/t.

Cables and pipes hold nothing: what a generator makes reaches the machines in the same tick, along the best path, and each cable carries its rated amount (Basic 160 MU/t, Advanced 640 MU/t). When a line or the supply falls short, the machines share what gets through fairly. Fluid pipes have a temperature limit, item pipes move 8 items every half second, and every pipe side can insert, extract or both, with a priority and a filter. The Wrench turns machines, cuts or restores cable sides and opens a pipe side's settings.

The Network Analyzer reports production, use, storage, line load, the bottleneck and why a machine stopped.

Place a Network Monitor next to a cable and its screen shows the whole energy network: production, consumption, storage, line load and every connected block, whose power priority you can change right there.

Three tiers, each with its own casing and accent colour: copper for Tier I (coal power, crusher, furnace, battery), teal for Tier II (steel, pressing, washing, fluids, lava and sun) and gold for Tier III (steam, the assembler, big storage, the monitor and the item router).

The goal of this first version is an autonomous factory: one network powered by a steam turbine, with storage, in which a crusher, an ore washer, an electric furnace, an alloy smelter, a press and an assembler all work at the same time. Eighteen advancements lead the way.

- Install NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1 and put Minimalistics Core and Minimalistics into the mods folder of the client and the server.
- Craft copper wire, a basic circuit and a basic machine casing, then a Coal Generator and a Crusher.
- Join them with Basic Cable, give the generator coal and crush your first raw iron.

- NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1. Needs Minimalistics Core 1.0.0 or newer (below 2.0).
- In English and Russian.
- Version 0.1.0: the machines, power and networks are complete; more machines and tiers will come.
