Quick answer
Which Total Tinkers release should I use?
Total Tinkers totaltinkers-0.6.0.jar targets 1.12.2. The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both. 1 required mod needs a matching file.
Where it goes
Is Total Tinkers required on the client, server, or both?
The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both.
The source does not explicitly classify this release as client-only or server-only.
What else does Total Tinkers totaltinkers-0.6.0.jar need?
totaltinkers-0.6.0.jar. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
Install Tinkers Construct first, but 1 required mod has no matching file for this setup. Do not mix loader builds to force a match.
We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

About this project
What does Total Tinkers add?
Miss the old 1.7 Tinkers Construct weapons? Want some new weapons to spice up your Tinkers arsenal?
Look no further. Total Tinkers is a Tinkers Construct addon that aims to add weapons, both those that came before, alongside new, exciting ways to play in the same framework. All features this mod adds can be disabled from the config.
Weapon Tweaks:
Crossbow tweaks (Disabled by default): Total Tinkers adds in the ability to have automatic reload for the crossbow, as well as replacing the cursor type.
Currently added weapons:
(Old 1.7.10 Weapons)
Javelin - The javelin is a hybrid weapon that can be thrown and used as a meele weapon.
Battleaxe - A heavy war blade. Damage dealt and taken is significantly increased.
Cutlass- As blocking was removed, the cutlass has different behavior. On critical hits, the cutlass will grant a short burst of speed. Full guard pattern can now be found from your blacksmith friends.
Dagger - New behavior is yet to be decided, as of now it acts as a fast broadsword.
(New Weapons)
Greatblade - A mighty weapon to slay the elders. Rather than focusing on high damage, the greatblade is oriented to take out big, beefy bosses. It does percentages of the boss's maximum hp per swing. The greatblade core pattern can be found in the farthest dimension, where you will take your wings to fight the mighty.
Scimitar - A light, sharp blade. It lacks the raw damage that its brethren have, instead drawing its power from its ability to apply bleeds. The goal of the scimitar is to encourage an alternative build style, instead of the quartz and multiplicative damage multipliers typical of normal tinkers.
FAQ:
Will you update this mod to 1.x?
- Most likely not. The large number of systematic changes to tinkers means that writing almost all of the non meele weapons would be a lot of work and not really worth it.
I preferred the old versions of the weapons, can I have them back?
- Eventually, I plan to add in old behaviors for all of the weapons, minus the ones that were directly associated with blocking.
The cutlass/greatblade/xyz is too op, where should I tell you that/give you suggestions?
- Please make a comment here or a suggestion on the github issue tracker.
Where can I find the stencils for the new parts?
- The full guard pattern can be found in village blacksmith chests. The greatblade core pattern can be found in end cities.
I want more tools, weapons are boring.
- Personally, I feel the opposite way, there are only so many ways you can break blocks. Tinkers 2 brought some variety to how you can build your weapons - unless you have tinkers tool leveling.
I am on a skyblock/nontranditional world, how do I obtain the stencils?
- Stencil crafting from the stencil table can be enabled via config.
