THIS IS A FORGE MOD, UNLESS SOMEONE PORTS IT, IT WILL NOT WORK ON FABRIC!
Better Shields is a small Vanilla+ mod that adds iron, gold and diamond shields and makes the Vanilla shield deflect less damage.
The better shields are crafted from Vanilla shields and three of their respective material.
As of version 1.1 for minecraft 1.14.4 and all versions for newer minecraft versions this mod also allows for the Thorns enchantment to be applied to Shields(can be disabled in config),
however due to the way Thorns works it wont apply to deflected projectils, but will even work while not blocking.
The Netherite shield is also lava proof.
Default shield damage reduction:
Vanilla Shield: 75%,
Iron Shield: 90%,
Gold Shield: 85%,
Diamond Shield: 100%(1.14.4)/98%(1.16.3),
Netherite Shield(1.16.3+ only): 100%
How much of the incomming damage gets absorbed by what shield can be changed in the config file.
