Idle Generators
Place a generator and let it work, even offline. Craftable block-generators that produce resources passively over real time, with a live HUD and full Cloth Config support.
Quick answer
Which Idle Generators release should I use?
Idle Generators 1.5.0 targets 1.21.1 with Fabric. Installation on the client is optional. Installation on the dedicated server is optional. All 3 required mods have matching files.
Where it goes
Is Idle Generators required on the client, server, or both?
Installation on the client is optional. Installation on the dedicated server is optional.
The source marks this as usable on both the client and server.
What else does Idle Generators 1.5.0 need?
1.5.0. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
Install Architectury API, Fabric API, Cloth Config API first. We found matching files for this game-version and loader setup. 3 come through another mod in the chain.
3 extra mods were pulled in by other dependencies. Indented rows show who needs each one. We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

About this project
What does Idle Generators add?

Automate your resource gathering with passive generation, even while you're offline!
Place a generator, walk away, and come back to full storages. Perfect for Skyblock, survival, or any world where you want steady resource income without constant mining or chopping. Generators run on real-world time, so they keep producing whether you're online, offline, or the world is closed.

✏️ Custom Recipes (new in v1.5.0)
Want different recipes for your world, server or modpack? Change any generator's recipe in the online Recipe Editor: pick the ingredients on a crafting grid and download a small data pack. No files to edit by hand.
- Open the Recipe Editor, choose your Minecraft version and change the recipes you want.
- Download the pack and drop the
.zip(no need to unzip it) into your world'sdatapacksfolder (saves/<world>/datapacks, orworld/datapackson a server). - Run
/reload. Done: your recipes are in, and mod updates never overwrite them.
Advanced: editing the JSON by hand
The downloaded zip is a normal data pack: unzip it and edit the files in data/idlegenerators/recipe/ (one per generator, named <generator>_generator.json). A file with the same name as ours replaces our recipe. Keep the neoforge:conditions and fabric:load_conditions blocks so the config toggles can still turn that generator off.
📦 Features
✅ 69 Unique Generators (68 on Minecraft 26.2, 66 on 1.21.1) in six sets: Minerals, Wood, Stone & Construction, Colors, Nature and Nether.
✅ Offline Generation: resources keep generating when you're not playing. Uses real-world time to produce items, so play however you like: the generators never stop.
✅ Smart Withdrawal System
- Right-click: withdraw 1 item
- Shift + right-click: withdraw up to a full stack (64)
- Break the block: drops the whole buffer plus the generator
Withdrawals drain the accumulated buffer, and sub-cycle progress is never lost.
✅ Hopper Automation: hoppers and item pipes pull produced items from all block faces (insertion is blocked); comparators read the buffer fill level.
✅ Generator Toggles: disable whole sets or single generators from the config. Production stops instantly and the recipe, creative-tab entry and JEI/EMI/REI listing disappear on world join or /reload.
✅ Animated Models: each generator shows a rotating animated core that reflects its output.
✅ HUD Readout: look at a generator to see its name, current amount / capacity, and progress % on the action bar. Auto-hides when Jade is installed (config toggle to keep it).
✅ Storage Caps: generators buffer 8–1024 items depending on the type (the Nether Star keeps just 8).
✅ Fully Configurable: per-generator intervals and caps, production speed multiplier, HUD behavior and toggles, all in-game via Cloth Config.
✅ Balanced Progression: tuned for vanilla worlds and compatible with modpacks.
✅ Supported Languages: English, Español.
🧰 The Generators
Craft a generator, place it, and collect. Every set shares one recipe layout, so once you know a set you know all of it. Open a set to see its recipes and stats.
🪨 Minerals (11): Cobblestone, Coal, Copper, Iron, Redstone, Lapis, Gold, Quartz, Emerald, Diamond, Netherite
Each mineral generator uses glass on the corners, a themed material, and the resource's block in the center.

🌳 Wood Logs (12): Oak, Spruce, Birch, Jungle, Acacia, Dark Oak, Mangrove, Cherry, Pale Oak, Poplar, Crimson, Warped
All 12 share the same pattern: glass corners, bone meal, that wood's sapling (×3) and its log in the center. Mangrove uses a Propagule, and Crimson / Warped Stems use their fungus.

Poplar needs Minecraft 26.3; Pale Oak needs 26.2 or newer.
🧱 Stone & Construction (12): Stone, Granite, Diorite, Andesite, Deepslate, Tuff, Calcite, Dripstone, Gravel, Sand, Red Sand, Clay
All 12 share the same layout: glass on the corners, cobblestone on the sides, a themed catalyst on top & bottom, and the output's block in the center. Red Sand uses sand on the sides; Dripstone and Clay craft with their block but produce the item (Pointed Dripstone / Clay Balls). Buckets are returned on craft.

🎨 Colors (16): every dye in the game
Never farm flowers or squids for color again. All 16 share the same layout: glass on the corners, bone meal on the sides, that color's natural source on top & bottom (bone, ink sac, poppy, cactus, cocoa beans…), and the dye itself in the center. All produce every 5 s with a 1024-item buffer.

🌿 Nature (8): Amethyst, Honeycomb, Glow Lichen, Moss, Spore Blossom, Big Dripleaf, Flowering Azalea, Resin
Living Overworld nature: amethyst without hunting a geode, honeycomb without a hive, spore blossoms (vanilla never lets you grow them) and resin without a Creaking Heart. All 8 share the same layout: glass on the corners, vines on the sides, that resource's natural source on top & bottom (calcite, honey bottle, bone meal, moss carpet, moss block, small dripleaf, azalea, pale oak log), and the item itself in the center.

Resin needs Minecraft 26.2 or newer.
🔥 Nether (10): Netherrack, Blackstone, Basalt, Soul Sand, Soul Soil, Magma, Nether Wart, Glowstone, Wither Rose, Nether Star
Build with Nether blocks without living in the Nether: netherrack, blackstone, basalt, soul sand and soul soil at full speed, magma, nether wart and endless glowstone dust, plus the prizes: the Wither Rose and the Nether Star (one per hour, stores up to 8). All 10 share the same layout: glass on the corners, obsidian on the sides, that resource's source on top & bottom (flint and steel, gold ingot, blue ice, nether wart, bone block, magma cream, soul sand, glowstone, wither skeleton skull), and the item itself in the center. The Nether Star generator asks for a Nether Star and two Wither Skeleton Skulls: you fight the Wither twice.

⚠️ Important Notes
Compatible with:
- ✅ Hoppers & item pipes: extract from all block faces
- ✅ Comparators: output scales with the buffer fill level
- ✅ JEI / EMI / REI: recipes and items are listed (and hidden when you disable a generator)
- ✅ Jade: optional look-at tooltip with the generator's buffer status
- ✅ Custom recipes: data packs from the Recipe Editor, config toggles keep working
Not compatible with:
- ❌ Redstone control: generators can't be switched on/off with redstone (use the config toggles instead)
- ❌ Pistons: cannot be pushed/moved
This is a standalone generator system focused on simple, reliable passive production.
