About this project

What does -FakePlayer- add?

Summon AI-controlled fake players who fight for you and handle the boring grind while you're busy or away. They behave like real players: same inventory, same combat, same survival needs.

Core Idea

Fake players are full in-game characters you create with a command. Each one can:

  • Follow you around and fight enemies you point them at
  • Run repetitive tasks on their own — mining, farming, chopping, planting, fishing, trading, looting, organizing
  • Be possessed directly: sneak + right-click to see through their eyes and play as them

Summoning

Two ways to create one:

  • /0 — spawns a fake player with an auto-generated name (001, 002, 003…)
  • /0 <name> — spawns one with the name you choose

After you run the command, step back a block — the fake player appears once you've moved away. If the name is taken, already spawning, too long, or banned, you'll get a message explaining why it failed.

Working with Them

Open a fake player's inventory by right-clicking them. The screen has three areas:

Inventory Grid (54 slots)

Colored slots mark what belongs where:

Color Slots Purpose
Green 4 Armor — helmet / chestplate / leggings / boots
Yellow 1 Offhand
Pink 1 Main hand
Light blue 8 Hotbar

14 colored slots plus the normal slots make up the fake player's full 41-slot inventory (main hand, hotbar, 27 backpack, 4 armor, offhand). Everything else on the screen is a button — clickable, not droppable.

The first slot is a skin changer (left-click random skin, right-click clear skin — needs StraySkins). The offhand slot has a bonus trick: hold a shulker box and right-click it to pack all of the fake player's items into the box, or unpack a non-empty box to dump its contents into the backpack and auto-equip armor.

Behavior Switches (12 total)

Green = on, red = off. They're independent — turning one on never switches another off. Icons show state: colored when on, gray when off, yellow "paused" when ranged/mace is waiting for missing gear.

Manual (do one thing at the target you're facing):

  1. Attack — swings every second at whatever's in front; auto-equips a sword when the main hand is empty
  2. Mine — keeps mining the block you're looking at with the best tool, shows cracking, breaks it
  3. Use (main hand) — right-clicks the thing ahead (entity, block, or just uses the item)
  4. Dual-use — right-clicks with both hands in turn (e.g. bonemeal + sapling)

Combat:
5. Melee — locks onto nearby enemies (hostiles, things attacking you, PvP targets first), chases, jump-crits, picks the strongest weapon, backs off when too close; uses ranged for airborne targets if ranged is also on
6. Defense — faces enemies with a shield, deflects fireballs/shulker bullets/wind charges, drops water to save itself from fall damage, douses fire/webs, extinguishes nearby flames
7. Ranged — shoots from up to 64 blocks with bow/crossbow, keeps distance; pauses and falls back to melee when out of arrows
8. Mace — within 3 blocks, tosses a wind charge to launch into the air and smash down; pauses when missing a mace or wind charge
9. Auto-eat — feeds itself from the offhand; golden foods when hurt, best normal food when hungry, periodic top-ups

Utility:
10. Equip — wears the best armor set, re-checks every 15s, removes armor when turned off
11. Mending — every 20s (standing on ground), if an equipped item has Mending and is damaged, converts all XP to orbs for vanilla repair
12. Fishing — casts and reels automatically, checks the water is open on the first bite; stops if most other modes are on

Left Mode Buttons (18)

  • Sneak / Crawl / Sprint / Jump — hold a posture (crawl hugs the ground, jump keeps leaping in water)
  • Active — master switch for self-movement: off means it stays put (attack/mine/use still work in place); on lets it wander, chase, and run chores
  • Follow — stays beside you; teleports if you get more than 32 blocks away or switch dimensions
  • Anchor — remembers a spot; walks back if it drifts over 32 blocks, teleports back if idle; never crosses dimensions
  • Forward — walks straight ahead; drives boats/minecarts/horses forward when riding
  • Spectator — stands still, looks at the nearest player every second, occasional idle animation
  • Spin — keeps the model rotating for show
  • Pickup — collects nearby dropped items within 16 blocks
  • Storage — moves excess items into chests, pulls missing items back, upgrades item quality; whitelist-based (armor, tools, shield, bow/crossbow, fishing rod, totem, cobblestone, water bucket, arrows, food, saplings, trade goods)
  • Trade — visits villagers and buys only the trades you pre-checked; if storage is also on, alternates between the two every 10 seconds
  • Trap — walls in a high-HP mob (80+ HP) with a 2-block cobblestone pen
  • Mine — digs the closest matching block (hotbar block or cobblestone) within 16 blocks, builds a pillar to reach high blocks, avoids dead ends
  • Woodcut — mine mode that also cuts logs and leaves, prefers log pillars
  • Plant — plants saplings on open ground nearby
  • Farm — harvests and replants crops, nether wart, sugarcane/bamboo (keeps one), melons/pumpkins (uses an axe)

Right Quick Buttons (5)

  • Combat — one click arms everything for a fight (active, sprint, jump, melee, defense, auto-eat, equip, mending; no ranged); right-click disables all modes
  • PvP — see Dueling section
  • Sort — merges and orders items; right-click dumps everything
  • XP extract — converts stored XP to orbs, to you (left) or the fake player (right)
  • Exit — save and remove (right-click) or remove without saving (left-click)

Auto-refill

Items that run out in hand get replaced automatically from the backpack, even from inside shulker boxes. Always on, no switch needed.

Dueling (PvP)

Start a duel from the PvP button, /0 <name> pvp [target], or /00 pvp (nearest fake player). A 5-second countdown plays (the fake player crouches each tick), then it commits: enables combat modes and locks onto you. It re-locks every 20 ticks, throws ender pearls to close distance beyond 12 blocks (25% chance, 3–6s cooldown), and each kill or shattered totem scores a point. When one side dies, the duel ends with a broadcast of score and winner. A dead fake player is removed permanently. Creative players can't duel.

Configuration Screen

Press \ (or Mod Menu). Settings:

  • Allow/deny opening fake player inventories
  • Draw sight lines showing what fake players look at
  • Enable/disable possession
  • Dismount fake players (sneak + left-click)
  • Trade checkboxes in villager screens
  • 24-block spawn-range overlay around idle fake players
  • Death drops on/off
  • Fake player count cap (0 = none allowed)
  • Live count display (green under cap, red over)

"Death drops" and "count cap" need operator permission. Everything saves automatically.

Compatibility

  • Client and server both need the mod

  • They keep ticking even when the world is frozen, and don't block sleeping through the night
