About this project
What does Server-side Vein Miner & Tunneler add?
A quick & simple little mod which allows destroying ore veins instantly on a server with vanilla clients (including the giant iron/copper veins)
It also allows digging up tunnels of various dimensions instantly
You may also install it on a regular Forge client, and it'll work for Singleplayer.
The server config file is at ./{world\_name}/serverconfig/svmm-config.toml, you may configure everything to your taste.
The per-player config files are saved at ./{world\_name}/serverconfig/svmm-player-configs/, and will create a new file for each player that logs into the server
Why this mod?
A lot of mods for veinmining and excavation already exist, however, they expect the mod to also be installed on the clients that connect to a server. This mod does not require anyone to have it installed, meaning that fully vanilla players may connect to the server without any problems.
This mod is designed to only save time in the long run, and not as a cheat. Tool durability, enchantments and everything else works as expected, it only skips over the time that would have been spent mining each block one-by-one.
Features :
- When mining an ore block (the allowed blocks are configurable), all of its identical neighbors are also mined, recursively until there are no longer any blocks
- You may also mine a giant vein (tuff and all) all at once. Relevant blocks and whether or not the feature is restricted are all configurable.
- Option to stop the vein mining if the tool is about to break (default: true)
- Holding shift prevents (or allows, based on the player's config) vein mining from triggering
- The appropriate tool must be equipped for vein mining to trigger
- Vein mining applies all the enchantments of a tool, so Fortune, Silk Touch and Unbreaking all work properly
- Individual clients may use
/svmm disable [giantVein]and/svmm enable [giantVein]to toggle the mod or specific features for themselves - Operators may restrict access to the mod or specific features with
/svmm restrict {player}OR/svmm restrict [giantVein|tunnel|force] {player}and remove the restriction with/svmm allow {player}OR/svmm allow \[giantVein|tunnel|force\] {player} - You may dig tunnels using
/svmm tunnel, use the/svmm help tunnelcommand for more details /svmm forceallows to force a vein mine of blocks that aren't part of the vein mine whitelist. This feature is restricted by default for regular clients to avoid griefing on servers, but it can be configured otherwise as needed./svmm serverConfig {blocklist} {add|remove} {BLOCK|TAG}can be used to add or remove blocks and block tags that trigger veinmining, or other features of the mod.- Any block blacklist or whitelist also supports tags (ie:
#forge:oresfor ores)
If you think a feature is missing, or something should be configurable, feel free to leave a comment, or open an issue on the Github page.
