Minerals you can eat. Five beef tiers, five food enchantments, and durability-based eating so one beef lasts many bites.
Quick answer
Which Ore Food release should I use?
Ore Food 2.0.1 targets 26.1.2 with NeoForge. Installation on the client is optional. Installation on the dedicated server is optional. No extra mods listed for this file.
Where it goes
Is Ore Food required on the client, server, or both?
Installation on the client is optional. Installation on the dedicated server is optional.
The source marks this as usable on both the client and server.
What else does Ore Food 2.0.1 need?
2.0.1. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
This file does not list any required mods. Do not add a library just because a different file uses it.
We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

About this project
What does Ore Food add?
Ore Food
Turn minerals into edible beefs. One item, five mineral tiers; five food enchantments that grant potion effects based on enchantment level. Eating consumes durability instead of the item, so one beef can be eaten many times.
Platforms: Forge 1.20.1, NeoForge 1.21.1, NeoForge 26.1.2
What it adds
One item: Ore Food
orefood:ore_food is the mod's only item. All beefs share the same item ID but have different names, textures, and stats.
| Beef | Hunger | Saturation | Durability | Enchantability |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Copper Beef | 6 | 9.6 | 8 | 1 |
| Iron Beef | 8 | 12.8 | 16 | 1 |
| Gold Beef | 8 | 16.0 | 32 | 5 |
| Diamond Beef | 10 | 20.0 | 64 | 10 |
| Netherite Beef | 12 | 24.0 | 128 | 15 |
Durability means remaining bites. Each bite costs 1 durability; when it reaches 0, the beef is consumed. Iron Beef can be eaten 16 times; Netherite Beef, 128 times. They do not stack. In Creative mode, eating does not consume durability.
All values are data-pack driven: change one line, re-enter the world, and it takes effect.
Five food enchantments
These apply only to edible items. Effects trigger when the food is eaten.
| Enchantment | Max Level | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Potent Recovery | 4 | Instant Health + Regeneration. Effect level equals enchantment level; Regeneration lasts level × 5 seconds. |
| Adrenaline | 3 | Strength (level × 5s) + Speed (level × 10s). |
| Vitality | 5 | Absorption (scales with enchantment level) + Resistance II (40% damage reduction), duration level × 20s. |
| Satiety | 3 | Restores level × 2 extra hunger. |
| Feast | 3 | Saturation, 1 minute per level. Treasure enchantment. |
Crafting
Beefs upgrade tier by tier. Each recipe uses 8 matching minerals around the previous tier beef.
| Result | Materials (8) | Center |
|---|---|---|
| Copper Beef | Copper Ingots | Vanilla Beef |
| Iron Beef | Iron Ingots | Copper Beef |
| Gold Beef | Gold Ingots | Iron Beef |
| Diamond Beef | Diamonds | Gold Beef |
| Netherite Beef | Smithing Table: Netherite Upgrade Template + Netherite Ingot | Diamond Beef |
The center slot must be the correct previous tier. Using the wrong tier produces nothing.
How to use
- Get beefs from the Creative Food & Drinks tab.
- Enchant:
- Potent Recovery, Adrenaline, Vitality, and Satiety are normal enchantments (enchanting table, villagers, loot).
- Feast is treasure-only (loot, librarian, similar to Mending).
- Eat: hold right-click. Each bite consumes 1 durability and triggers effects.
- Hover the beef to see effects, levels, and durations in the tooltip, formatted like vanilla potions.
