Quick answer

Which Destroying MC release should I use?

Updated 10 months ago
beta file 1.0.0
Game version 1.21.1
Loader Fabric

Destroying MC 1.0.0 targets 1.21.1 with Fabric. Installation on the client is optional. Installation on the dedicated server is optional. No extra mods listed for this file.

Where it goes

Is Destroying MC required on the client, server, or both?

Installation on the client is optional. Installation on the dedicated server is optional.

Client Optional
Dedicated server Optional
Loader for this release Fabric
Required install it here Optional supported, not mandatory Not supported do not install here Source doesn’t say do not assume

The source marks this as usable on both the client and server.

What else does Destroying MC 1.0.0 need?

1.0.0. Change the file and its required mods may change too.

No extra mods listed for this file

This file does not list any required mods. Do not add a library just because a different file uses it.

Before you install it

Add Destroying MC without breaking your instance.

Built for Destroying MC 1.0.0. Pick another file and the loader, install side or required mods may change.

  1. 01

    Stick to this file

Use 1.0.0. It targets 1.21.1 with Fabric; another release may have different loader, side or dependency requirements.

  2. 02

    Bring the mods it needs

This file does not list any required mods. Do not add a library just because a different file uses it.

  3. 03

Put it on the correct side

Installation on the client is optional. Installation on the dedicated server is optional.

  4. 04

    Pick the file you checked

About this project

What does Destroying MC add?

This is a Content Mod and as such will contain a lot of bugs.
Most of which will not be fixed. If you're not using this mod for content, then it really won't serve you much purpose

This mod is VERY shader heavy so you need a good pc, likely with a dedicated GPU, to run this. Please don't expect the mod to run well on a laptop lol.

This mod adds in 5 destruction events (mostly just visual) to the game

  1. Nuke -------------- (Purely visual)
  2. Orbital Laser ------ (Mostly Visual)
  3. Planet Collision --- (Visual and Destructive)
  4. Supernova -------- (Purely visual)
  5. Black Hole -------- (Visual and Destructive)

NOTES:

  • I am not updating this mod/adding anything in the future unless there are any game breaking bugs. It is what it is
  • This contains everything seen in the video EXCEPT:
    • The World used
    • Play Zones
    • The intro to the Black Hole (Door opening and the world being really bright)
  • You actually CAN use sodium this time and it is recommended to do so. However, DO NOT use iris shaders, as they likely won't work.
  • You don't need to download Veil, its already included.
  • This mod likely won't work on dedicated servers

How to use:

To activate an event use:

/destruction

(The supernova will need a star piercer entity nearby to start)

To spawn a Star Piercer, use:

/summon destroying-minecraft:starpiercer

To reset the current event, use:

/destruction reset

You can change the shaders with the config/mod menu, or use this command:

/players changeshaders
(This changes the shaders for ALL players in the world)

Known Bugs that I am Not fixing

(Will likely be adding to this list)

  • Shaders don't really match night time (apart from the black hole)
  • The physics door block's various bugs (It works well enough)
  • Both the planet and the black hole don't leave when the destruction event is over.
