Quick answer

Which SharedWorld release matches 26.1.1?

Updated 4 days ago
beta file 0.2.1
Game version 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2
Loader Fabric

SharedWorld 0.2.1 targets 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2 with Fabric. It must be installed on the client. Do not install it on the dedicated server. 1 required mod needs a matching file.

Where it goes

Is SharedWorld required on the client, server, or both?

It must be installed on the client. Do not install it on the dedicated server.

Client Required
Dedicated server Not supported
Loader for this release Fabric
Required install it here Optional supported, not mandatory Not supported do not install here Source doesn’t say do not assume

This file is marked client-only.

What else does SharedWorld 0.2.1 need?

0.2.1 on 26.1.1. Every mod below is checked against that same setup.

1 required mod needs a matching file

Install Fabric API, e4mc first, but 1 required mod has no matching file for this setup. Do not mix loader builds to force a match.

Fabric API Needed by SharedWorld 0.2.1
required
Matching file found Matched file: 0.155.2+26.1.2
e4mc Needed by SharedWorld 0.2.1
required
No matching file Version asked for: 6.1.2-fabric

We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

Before you install it

Add SharedWorld without breaking your instance.

Built for SharedWorld 0.2.1 on 26.1.1. Pick another file and the loader, install side or required mods may change.

  1. 01

    Stick to this file

Use 0.2.1. It targets 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2 with Fabric; another release may have different loader, side or dependency requirements.

  2. 02

    Bring the mods it needs

Install Fabric API, e4mc first, but 1 required mod has no matching file for this setup. Do not mix loader builds to force a match.

  3. 03

Put it on the correct side

It must be installed on the client. Do not install it on the dedicated server.

  4. 04

    Pick the file you checked

Use the “Get this file” button beside 0.2.1. It opens that exact file at the source.

About this project

What does SharedWorld add?

SharedWorld

Play with your friends without a dedicated Minecraft server. The mod combines e4mc with Google Drive sync to achieve "fake Minecraft servers" that feel like real Minecraft servers.

How it works

Behind the scenes, the world is synced on Google Drive. The first player to join a 'Shared World' becomes the 'host'. The following players are automatically redirected to the host via e4mc. When the host leaves the game, a new host across the online players is picked and all players automatically reconnect to the new host.

Google Drive permissions

The mod only requests permission to have a private folder where it stores data (that is, your shared worlds). This means that the mod never has access to your entire drive.

Data Privacy

The mod stores on a cloudflare backend only the information it requires to function. That is data like your minecraft UUID and world data. Both the mod and backend are fully opensource under a MIT license. Furthermore, it is possible (and easy) to self-host the backend if you want.

Special thanks

Special thanks to vgskye for creating the e4mc mod. Without it I wouldn't have been able to figure out the networking to create this.
