Grand Geology [Preview]

IMPORTANT The mod is an early "preview" version with 32x32 textures. It's planned for 128x128 and 512x512 (and shapes extension), which will be released after finishing a mod. I created a mod using a "ModMaker", then moved textures here (and created an addon

About this project

What does Grand Geology [Preview] add?

IMPORTANT
The mod is an early "preview" version with 32x32 textures. It's planned for 128x128 and 512x512 (and shapes extension), which will be released after finishing a mod.

I created a mod using a "ModMaker", then moved textures here (and created an addon for the rest - "Grand Geology Textures"). It wasn't loading, so I may check it later to correct. The mod can load correctly now if to replace the game files by these of both the "Grand Geology" and "Grand Geology Textures".

1. ROCKS
New rocks: (226)
- 90 igneous (30 intrusive/extrusive/deep intrusive each),
- 30 metamorphic (2 verylow grade, 13 low, 9 medium, 3 high, 3 ultra),
- 30 metasomatic (same amount by grade like the metamorphic),
- 45 sedimentary rocks (further divided by 15 per an environment type: alluvial/colluvial/wasteland),
- 6 marbles as the metamorphic limestones extension,
- 5 unique rocks, which are: andesite, granite, basalt, suevite and a marl.

2. ROCK-RELATED BLOCKS
- soil (use sedimentary and unique as a parent rock),
- bog, mud, silt (same as soil),
- clay, hardened clay (limited to calm-environment rocks: colluvial/wasteland),
- sand (sedimentary, unique, upper igneous, verylow and low meta-),
- gravel (sedimentary, unique, upper and middle igneous, verylow, low and medium meta-),
- regolith (sedimentary, may be for igneous and unique in a future)
- crackedrocks (exactly "rock-{rock}cracked"),
- cobblestone, stone bricks, cracked stone bricks, polished rock, loosestones, looseboulders (salts excluded),
- ores (in both rocks and crackedrocks),
- clay and hardened clay by color (17 variants, "Bricklayers" mod compatibility).

3. SOILS
Soils are extended and located in a world by both temperature and humidity regimes:
- uquic (for rocks of a pH worse than 5,75 very low fertility)
- udic (for rocks of a pH worse than 6,75 low fertility)
- ustic (for rocks of a pH worse than 7,75 medium fertility)
- aridic (for rocks of a pH worse than 8,75 high fertility)
- xeric (for rocks of a pH greater than 8,75 "compost" fertility, which is worse than a high, because of climate and a soil structure)
- pergelic: -8°C to -4°C
- subgelic: -4°C to 0°C
- frigid: 0°C to 8°C
- mesic: 8°C to 15°C
- thermic: 15°C to 22°C
- hyperthermic: more than 22°C
Alluvial soils grain size type:
- gravelly sandy clay loam (very low),
- sandy clay loam (low),
- silty clay (medium),
- silty clay loam (compost),
- silt (high).
Colluvial soils grain size type:
- gravelly sandy loam (very low),
- sandy loam (low),
- loam (medium),
- silt loam (compost),
- clay loam (high).
Wasteland soils grain size type:
- gravelly sand (very low),
- sand (low),
- loamy sand (medium),
- sandy clay (compost),
- clay (high).
Soils structures:
- platy,
- lenticular,
- prismatic,
- columnar,
- wedge,
- blocky,
- granular,
- single-grained,
- massive.
Once a soil is digged out it shows a fertility and become arable in game.

4. ORES
New 21 ores appearing in a world realistically by chemical elements abundance in an Earth's crust. The ores:
- manganosite (MnO),
- posttransitionmetals,
- rutile (TiO2),
- hematite (Fe2O3),
- bunsenite (NiO),
- majortransitionmetals,
- phosphorite (Ca5(PO4)3F),
- quartz (SiO2),
- corundum (Al2O3),
- barite (BaSO4),
- strontianite (SrCO3),
- REE (rare earth elements),
- calcite (CaCO3),
- magnesite (MgCO3),
- reactivenonmetals,
- valuabletransitionmetals,
- alkalimetals,
- radioactiveelements,
- soda (used as general name for sodic minerals, NaCl),
- potash (used as general name for potassium minerals, KCl),
- zircon (ZrSiO4),
*In a future the same coded ores will be a mineral differing in both name and a texture.

IMPORTANT
The items of ores are an untested feature (like all other items too) and might cause bugs or lack of a drop. The items:
- stones for all rocks with crushed and powdered variants,
- crushed, powdered, nugget and ingot variants for all chemical elements,
- crushed and powdered ores,
- stones drop for the extracted ores as "ore" and "crystalizedore",
- 17 clay variants,
- detritus,
- silts and sands

5. WORLD GENERATION
Realistic world generation of these blocks (both "rockstrata" and "blocklayers"), little changed geologic provinces. New special blocks for world generation:
- gyttja (lake bed)
- cannel coal (lake bed)
- detritus (surface)
Once a world was started to be creating it may need a while.

6. CONFIGURATION
Each rock have a long name with tags, which it can be easy identified by during files editing. The textures are configured this way like locations of files (mostly) allowing to easy understand and edit the content.
*The colluvial rocks should be named alluvial, and alluvial colluvial (an uncorrected yet mistake).

FUTURE
- bug with no creating blocks on a sea level will be fixed,
- the snow and ice blocks creating not realistically will be corrected, either removed,
- the red/blue/fire clays will be considered an ooze,
- panning will be adjusted,
- not loading textures will be fixed,
- drops for blocks will be fixed (as well as items),
- ores will be extended by new minerals (just a little change in naming and textures of already existing 21 ores by the grade), so a colors will be corrected too,
- gemology will be added with compatibility for major gemological mods (or at least a compatibility),
- for all rocks and soils will be added very precise titles and detailed descriptions (fertility, origin, climate regimes, environment type, composition type, structure and just for rocks a mineralogical/chemical composition). The classifications will be used for that like for example QAPF for the igneous intrusive.
