About this project
What does Rustworks add?
Rustworks adds a way to obtain metal scraps without venturing into ruins or locust nests through allowing you to rust iron, meteoric iron, steel, or blister steel ingots or plates in barrels. Using a hammer and chisel, metal scraps can be removed from these rusted ingots/plates, which will also return some metal bits in order to not entirely waste your original metal.
|
Metal |
Time (Water) | Time (Sea water) | Time (Brine) |
| Iron | 384 hours (16 days) | 240 hours (10 days) | 144 hours (6 days) |
| Meteoric Iron | 576 hours (24 days) | 360 hours (15 hours) | 216 hours (9 days) |
| Steel | 768 hours (32 days) | 480 hours (20 days) | 288 hours (12 days) |
| Blister Steel | 936 hours (39 days) | 576 hours (24 days) | 336 hours (14 days) |
- 5 liters of fresh or sea water are required, whereas only 3 liters of brine are needed.
- Rusted ingots produce 3 metal scraps and 15 metal bits (75% of the original ingot).
- Plates take just as much time to rust as ingots and return twice as many metal scraps, but will yield less of the original metal (26 metal bits returned per plate, 65% of the original plate).
- Rusted metal plates can be made into new riveted rusty metal blocks. The vanilla rusty/corroded blocks have been renamed to "large rivets" instead of "riveted" ro reflect the visual difference between them and their unrusted version.
NOTE: Rusted steel ingots will produce steel bits, which are useless without another mod that allows them to be recycled into useable steel.
