This mod requires Purposeful Storage!

This mod is published with the unlicense! That means I effectively release the patches into the public domain. Anyone can fork this mod, use it for refrence, incorporate parts of it into their mods, or do basically anything else with this mod.

 

Any devs for the mods this mod supports may adopt the patches for their mods or use them for reference (Do note, Purposeful Storage has compatibility instructions on its page as well if you prefer to do it yourself). If you adopt patches from this mod, or this mod inspires you to add compatability yourself please let me know so I know when to remove redundant patches from this mod!

 

This mod does not contain any code or assets from any other mods, this is purely JSON patches.

Base patches

  1. Stone spears are scaled down in spear racks to better represent their size difference with metal spears. (Look at the bonified tools preview for an example)
  2. Slightly adjusted metal spear position on weapon racks (i just pushed them over to the right a little)

 

Supported mods

Note: All of these mods are optional. The only required mod for this patch mod is Purposeful Storage. Patches are automatically disabled for mods you don't have, so there should be no log spam unless a loaded patch needs an update!

Mods which are not marked as 1.22 have not been updated to 1.22 at the time of the latest release and have not been checked for compatibility yet.

Notes

  • Firearms already has a weapon rack of its own in a different style, check it out!
  • There is also a "wallmount" item, which can be used for some shorter longarms that don't fit Purposeful Storage's weapon rack.
  • Firearms on spear racks may have minor clipping issues
  • Firearms on spear racks that are different types may have larger clipping issues when mixing and matching. Preventing this with just a patch mod is very difficult so I probably won't be able to fix this.
  • Firearms on the weapon racks have minor clipping issues as well. I couldn't tilt them down so I couldn't fit them as perfectly as I wanted. The current placement is the best I can do at this time.
  • Bayonets will not be shown on guns in spear racks.
  • Important note: Adding guns to the racks may require holding ALT.
  • The 1.22 patches may need updating once Firearms official updates, but also may work fine as I've applied the same changes as the fork patches.

  • Like the Geology Additions patch, it just fixed alignment issues. The spears from this mod could technically be put on racks without this patch.

  • I've patched for the mods linked above, adjusting existing transforms where applicable.
  • Combat Overhaul, Maltiez's Bows, and Bullseye may overwrite these models.
    • I haven't tested it closely. It's possible that Bullseye for example won't overwrite the Yumi model replacement.
    • These patches do not disable themselves when the mods mentioned here are installed, in case it gets patched. I'm assuming if you have Tobi's model replacements installed that you'd either patch it to work with these mods or disable it.

Mods I probably won't add

  • Return of Atlatl: I love this mod and did try to add its darts to the spear rack, but they are too slim to work well. If purposeful storage ever gets new storage options that are relevant, I may try in the future.
  • Crossbows: All of the current weapon holders in Purposeful Storage are for long weapons. Crossbows are wide and I don't think it make sense to add them to any of the current storage options.
  • Any weapon mods that add tons of different weapons: Creating these patches takes a ton of trial and error and restarting the game world whenever I tweak a value. It's still a bit tedious, but I found a way to add .tfedit support myself. I may do more now. I don't want to spend days on patching large weapon mods.
