About This Mod:

Ithania Canned Goods adds a complete food preservation system built around Metal Cans and Glass Jars. Fill, seal, and process your meals for long-term storage that fits naturally into the Vintage Story experience.

Known Bugs:

Shift-Clicking Items are Disappearing (Issue is being looked into) Fixed

Recent Change Log:

Version 2.0.6

  • Fixed Jars rotting sooner than expected
  • Fixed shift clicking items into Canning Bench, Cooking Pot, and Pressure Cooker
  • Fixed Jars showing rotten but still being able to eat out of the Jars and getting nutrition
  • Added more info about adding beeswax to Jars with Wooden Lids into Handbook (Can now add beeswax to Jars while on a shelf)
  • Rotten Jars now just say Glass Jar of Rotten Food (No more info on tooltip for Glass Jars of Rotten Food)

What This Mod Adds:

  • Steel Cans for preserving meals
  • A Canning Bench for preparing your goods
  • A Canning Press for assembling cans and lids
  • A Pressure Cooker used to cook and preserve the contents of the can
  • A Can Opener to open a preserved can and enjoy a meal
  • A Canning Pot used to cook and preserve the contents of a glass jar
  • Canning Tongs to safely handle hot glass jars and cans
  • Glass Jars for preserving meals

Together, these systems create a complete preservation process ,from preparation to sealing to consumption and giving players a structured and satisfying way to manage food supplies.

Configuration

If you would like to configure certain values for Ithania Canned Goods, install ConfigLib and ImGui. These are only required if you wish to customize the mod's configurable settings.

Once installed, you can adjust available options in-game:

ESC > Mod Settings > Ithania Canned Goods > Configure > Save > Reload World

Note: Some changes may not apply retroactively to existing placed crafted items. Newly created items will reflect updated settings.

Development Status

Ithania Canned Goods is currently in its first stage of development. The core preservation system is in place, but this is only the beginning of what the mod is planned to become.

Recipes, balance, visuals, and systems may evolve as the project grows. Community feedback and suggestions are welcome and help shape the direction of future updates.
