About this project
What does KitchenFuel add?
kitehen fuel is a mod aimed at adding dynamiclaly craftable fuel for use in a firepit (and modded cooking related blocks!)
Briquettes are crafted inside a barrel using a fully custom crafting method.
time and duration data is pulled from your input ingredients then adveraged across the ammount of briquettes being made.
addatives will modify the burn time and duratoin of the briquette. allowing you to fully customize the stats of your fuel source, some addatives such as clay will not increase the ammount of fuel value, if you add too much of an addative, your fuel source can become "so bad" that it will no longer burn. a typical mix will be 10-30% addative and 70-90% fuel. different addatives will have a greater effect then others.
"most" burnable items in game can be added to the the briquette slurry, modded burable items should also work just fine.
wood and cloth items are not acceptable ingredients for a slurry.
sawdust has been added as a bi-product from using the saw in the crafting grid as a cheap burnable ingrdient to add into briquettes.
wet briquettes will need to dry before they can be used.
times for processing steps are as follows:
slurry will take 3 days to process.
wet briquettes take 7 days to fully dry.
wet compact briquettes take 2 days to fully dry.
you can find a full step by step guide in game along with a general idea of what items you can use to make briquettes.
i have created a companion mod for briquettres that overhauls the vanilla drying speed mechanic, to make the briquette drying process more interesting. this mod should work with any modded item that needs drying.

known compatable mods:
versions listed are the last mod version i tested with, however, future versions of these mods will likely still work, as long as they don't change anything i am patching. please yell at me if one of these mod updates causes something to break.
Panda Hearth (Version 0.0.5)
Stone Bake Oven (Version 1.2.0 - 1.2.3)
(these mods extend the "BlockEntityFirePit" they are patched dynamically using my fire pit patch, other mods like these should work without extra effort from my end)
EternalStew (version 1.1.7)
Stove (version 1.0.4)
(these mods have custom burning pipelines but patching them is still fairly simple)
kevinsfurniture (version 1.8.1)
(this mod have custom burning pipelines, no real inventory, hard coded burn times, patching this mod is a pain.)
known Incompatable mods:
since my briquettes store their burnable properties in the attributes of the item, rahter then in the json, my fuels are not natuerally comaptable with "anything that accepts a burnable fuel" this unfortunalty, is the price you pay for "being able to design your own fuel"
my focus on comaptability is, kitchen related mods. but i may expand to things such as, bonfires, fire palces, forges, furnaces. at a later date
Known Issues:
Notes
just incase it comes up in the future. the model used for the compact briquettes was created by myself, and given to wisher for his own briquette mod.
i came up with the idea for making fuel that was better for cooking with longer burn times and lower temperatures.
the asset for the compact briquette was created by myself during the development of wishers mod so natuerally he has my permissoin to use it.
wisher and i are close friends, although we often disagree on design principle. we got into a "friendly argument" over his briquette mod at one point. since the value proposition of briquettes was severly lacking at the time (something that i do believe they have tweaked since then)
reguardless at that time i made the decision to just make my own mod. with my own design principles.
if you want a mod that does not have the issue of compatbility due to burnable properties being stored in the items attributes, check out BetterBurnables
