About this project

What does libGUI add?

Overview

libGUI is a client-side UI library for Vintage Story mod authors. It replaces GuiComposer with a Flutter-inspired widget system rendered via SkiaSharp.

Since GuiBase inherits from GuiDialog, mod authors (most of the time) can drop it in as a replacement for existing screens without rewriting the rest of their mod.

Theming

Every libGUI screen picks up your active theme automatically — no extra setup, no code changes needed on the mod author's side (unless they chose to override it).

To switch themes, set "theme" in ModConfig/libgui.json. The UI redraws the moment you save the file — no game restart, no reload command.

For Players

You're here because a mod you installed depends on this. You don't need to do anything — just keep it installed and updated.

For Mod Authors

I built this because I genuinely cannot stand GuiComposer.

If you're tired of the same thing I was — check the docs.
