About this project

What does More Crossbow Tiers add?

More Crossbow Tiers

New crossbows

This is a simple mod that adds four new crossbows: Thorium, Cobalt, Adamantite and Mithril.

Every weapon except crossbows have six iron tiers, not counting the crude one: Copper, Iron, Thorium, Cobalt, Adamantite and Mithril.

I really like crossbows, but they fall off rather soon, as the max tier available is Iron. I feel like they're a great addition to the gameplay and I would like to keep playing with them towards the late game, that's why I have modded them in.

Their damage and recipes have been adjusted so it's as vanilla-friendly as possible, keeping a smooth progression.

The damage for the crossbows is 55% of the regular bows, extrapolated from the iron crossbow (the vanilla one).

The combo* and signature ability damage are extrapolated from the iron crossbow's multipliers, that's x2.7 for the combo and x7.8 for the signature ability.

Here is a table:

Tier Normal Combo Signature
Iron (vanilla) 10 27 78
Thorium 16 43 125
Cobalt 16 43 125
Adamantite 20 54 156
Mythril 25 68 195

(*combo damage is applied is every three consecutive attacks)

Compatibility with other mods

Thanks to Skovos, the mod More Arrows by Skovos is now compatible with this mod! I encourage you all to check it out, it's also very vanilla-friendly and oriented towards late game, when vanilla starts to lack a bit of content.
