About this project

Hytalor Patch is being worked on and will be available soon!

Better Loot is a QoL mod that adjusts loot tables from Mobs and Structures to feel just a bit more rewarding overall. The goal is to make it so you want to try to engage in combat with mobs that currently don't provide much in terms of loot.
FEATURES
Loot Bags | A rare drop from a handful of mobs in the game that can provide you variety of different loot. Ranging from Uncommon to Legendary tiers. Mobs range from Zone 1 to 4, respectively. Try to find all the ones that can drop them! (Suggestion by inimitable)
Mob heads for Boars, Bears, Deers, and Warthogs. They also have a low drop chance. (Plans are to have heads for every single animal and mini boss)
Taxidermy Bench | You'll have to find the recipe for it, but once you do, you'll be able to make trophies.
Drying Rack - For drying various ingredients (Seaweed is the only usable one now). To use it, place tall green seaweed and salt into the drying rack to make dried seaweed
Mortar and Pestle - Grinding Vegetables and Peppers into Spices, Salt Blocks into Salt, and Petals into Dyes
Cutting Board - Cutting fish and making sushi
Woodcutters Block - Creating Firewood, Stripped Logs, Woodchips, and Planks
Loom - Crafting Fabric and Cloth Clothing | You can no longer use the furniture bench to craft bolts of wool and other things like that
Dye Bucket - Used for dying clothing
This mod goes exceptionally well with BetterLoot Update 7
Barrels, Crates, and Chests
Barrel and Crate loot has been vastly adjusted to feel just a little bit better and has a chance to give some decent loot.
Chests that spawn in the world now have improved loot, which better fits the location and zone you find them in. This is still a work in progress
New Food
Sushi, Cooked Steak, Pork, and Chicken, Lobster, Crab, and Primordial Meat
Using the new cutting board, you'll be able to craft various types of sushi, which is a tier 3 food. You can also now cook Beef, Pork, and Chicken and get the respective cooked variant instead of wildmeat. Lobster and Crabs can now drop Lobster Tails and Crab Legs, which can be cooked into a cooked variant.
Dyeable Armor
Linen, Silk, and Cotton Clothing can be dyed using a Dye Bucket. 12 dyes can be created by mashing petals in a Mortar and Pestle. Place the Clothing and Dye in the Dye Bucket, and you'll get the dyed result.
In the current iteration of this mod, loot has been readjusted on the following mobs
Skeleton Archer | Now drops Woolen Armor at random, with rare chances
Skelton Ranger | Now drops another variation of Woolen Armor as well as a rare chance to drop a crossbow
Golems | All Golems now have a chance to drop the respective gems that correspond to them
Kweebec Razorleaf, Treesinger, and Saplings | Can now drop Custom Kweebec Armor, Leaf Spear, and Wildmeat.
Wraith | Have a rare chance to drop a Void Scythe
Goblin Miner | Now has a chance to drop ores, a scrap pickaxe, torches, and a rare chance to drop their helmet
Fen Stalker | Now equipped with a Crude Spear, has the chance to drop its Spear as well as Raw Fish
Cave Rex | Now has increased drops of Heavy Hide; it can drop Primordial Claws and Teeth, as well as Primordial Meat. Some unfortunate adventurers have fallen prey to the Cave Rex, and you have a chance to recover some lost gear.
Cave Raptor, Trillodon, Pterodactyl, and Archaeopteryx | Now drop Primordial Claws, Teeth, and Primordial Meat
Snapdragon | Now will drop Fibers and Venom Sacs (Suggestion by zebrezebre)
Humpback Whale | Now will drop more fish instead of just 1, as well as a new fuel type, Blubber, also with a rare chance of dropping a Fishbone Harpoon. Blubber can be used to craft Blubber Candles. (Suggestion by Wanaskiwin)
Outlander Hunter, Stalker, and Marauder | Will now have a chance to drop various hides
Fox | Now drop light hide
Void Spawn | Now have a very rare chance to drop a Void Longsword (No signature ability just yet)
Skeleton Fighter | Now drop the torches they hold
Larvae/Spider/Cave | Now have a chance to drop silk scraps
Hammerhead Sharks | Now have a chance to drop Shark Teeth
Crabs | Can drop Crab Claws and Crab Legs
Lobsters | Can drop Lobster Tails
Goblins/Skeletons | Can drop clothing scraps, which can be fashioned into armor in the loom
Tuna | Can be found in the Ocean and drops Tuna
Tangs, Salmon, and Trout | Now only drop their full fish, which can be chopped into a raw fish variant for making sushi (More food coming soon)
Currently, I am working on some other changes that are not just loot-based but also tie into exploration.
