About this project

What does Hostile Progression add?

Hostile Progression

Hostile Progression is a gameplay focused mod for Hytale that enforces proper progression by requiring players to craft and equip the correct tools and armor before advancing into more dangerous biomes. Rushing into new areas unprepared is heavily punished, making preparation and gear progression a core part of survival.

This mod is ideal for players who want a more challenging and structured experience where each biome represents a true step forward in difficulty.

How It Works

Hostile Progression monitors the player’s equipment tier and applies restrictions and penalties when biome requirements are not met.

Tool Progression

Players cannot obtain new ores unless they are using the appropriate pickaxe tier. Skipping tool upgrades is not possible, ensuring a natural and balanced progression through the game.

Combat Difficulty Scaling

When entering a biome without the required armor tier, aggressive mobs will deal increased damage to the player. The deeper the progression, the more dangerous undergeared exploration becomes.

Biome Equipment Requirements

Each biome enforces a minimum equipment tier.

Desert Biome

Iron equipment or higher is required.

Snow Biome

Thorium equipment or higher is required.

Lava Biome

Cobalt equipment or higher is required.
