Overview

The Raids mod brings Terraria and Valheim-style raid encounters to Hytale! Place a Raid Totem anywhere in the world, activate it, and defend against raids from enemies that scale with your location and party size. Defeat all enemies to claim zone-specific loot chests filled with valuable resources!

How It Works

1. Craft a Raid Totem

Craft the Raid Totem block and place it anywhere in the world. The totem can face any direction and remembers its on/off state even after server restarts. It can be crafted at the arcane workbench.

2. Activate the Totem

Interact with the totem (F) to turn it on. When activated, it will automatically trigger a raid every 3 in-game days at 7pm (19:00) if you are within 100 blocks, if you are not - or are offline, it will reschedule.

3. Defend Your Base

Raids of enemies will spawn near the totem. The type and difficulty of enemies depends on which zone you're in!

4. Claim Your Rewards

Defeat all raid enemies to spawn a reward chest filled with loot. The chest type and rewards vary by zone.

Zone-Based Raids

Different zones spawn different enemies and offer unique rewards!

Emerald Grove

  • Enemies: Skeletons, Trorks, or Goblins
  • Chest: Village Chest
  • Rewards: Linen, Life Essence, Bone Fragments, Copper/Iron (common), Thorium/Gold/Silver (rare)

Key Features

Dynamic Scaling

  • Enemy count scales with nearby players (within 50 blocks)
  • Solo players face smaller groups, parties face larger waves
  • Each zone has multiple enemy types with different spawn chances

Smart Rewards

  • Loot scales with player count - more players = more rewards
  • Each item has its own drop chance (guaranteed, common, or rare)
  • Zone-specific chests match the theme of the area

Automatic Scheduling

  • Raids trigger every 3 in-game days at 7pm when totem is active
  • Each totem tracks its own schedule independently
  • Turn off the totem anytime to pause raids
  • All data persists through server restarts

Player-Friendly

  • Visual and audio cues (lightning, thunder, title notifications)
  • Totems can be placed and broken freely
  • Chests spawn at ground level, clearing grass/bushes automatically
  • 1-hour timeout automatically cleans up unfinished raids

Commands

Creative Mode Only:

  • /startraid - Manually trigger a raid for testing
  • /clearraid - Remove all active raid entities
