About this project

What does Shield Gauntlets add?

If you're not reading this on Curseforge, I recommend going to Curseforge, I only released this there. Anything else might be suspicious, proceed at your own risk.

If you want your shields to obstruct your view less, want shields with built-in lighting or just like the aesthetic of a gauntlet more than a shield, then this is for you.

Currently adds 12 gauntlets to the game, two for each currently craftable shield.

They are based off of the same tier shield, including recipes, so the regular gauntlets only have visual changes compared to shields. Magelight variants emit light and additionally cost blue crystal shards. The light radius and crystal shard requirement increase for higher tier gauntlets. Their looks are based off of their matching armor's hand armor, but slightly edited.

/!\ NOTE: This mod does not add a way to get mithril resources, so you'll need another mod to get those if you want to craft the mithril variant.

To-Do:

  • Add salvaging output (currently unsalvagable, despite being copied from shields)
  • Reduce light radius (they are significantly larger than torches and lanterns, which slightly breaks balance I suppose)
  • Keep visibility with two-handed items (if it's even possible possible in asset editor)
  • Extend armor to full arm (if I can attach it to the right arm parts, not sure if that is possible)
    • Hide arm clothing for the left arm (if possible to do on one side)

I f you know how to do one of the last two (and a half) points, or know for certain it's not possible, please leave me a comment about it.

Note: this is what I intend to do if I work on it again, I'm not promising that I will.

If you want to copy this, for whatever reason, go right ahead, I don't really care what you do with it.
This is just me trying to get the hang of the asset editor, I don't expect to pay much attention to this or any comments in the future.
