About this project

What does Hidden Bookcase Door add?

Hey! Here's the bookcase door you've been looking for!

I was wanting to experiment a bit with modding in Hytale and thought that a bookcase door could be fun.

What it is:

This mod adds a very easy to craft, bookshelf door, for hiding entrances into secret rooms,

  • Blends seamlessly; Uses the existing Bookcase as its base
  • Custom secret lever animation (tilting the books down duh)
  • You can put 2 next to each other and they turn into a double door *
  • They have fancy pivots to avoid clipping with the geometry. Like a real bookshelf door!
  • Empty hardwood shelves will match this as well!

How to use:

Simply place it like a normal door and don't forget where it is. The hitboxes when they are open are a bit thinner than the asset.

How to Craft:

You can simply craft this with a builders workbench and hardwood. If I figure out the things mentioned below, I will update this mod.

Some things I couldn't yet figure out:

  • *You have to open the two doors individually…
  • I could not get the custom interaction hitbox to work on just the lever
  • Light can bleed through the door so make sure both sides are equally lit

If anyone knows how to fix any of these things, please write it in the comments and I will update it!
